the rented house now has fully working electrics :j:j
But I'm still waiting for the insurance company to reimburse me - not impressed with how long this is taking given its thousands of pounds
On a positive note I have someone else wanting to move injust need to get the cosmetic bits sorted (and the heating that has now come to light as not working!), she has to give a months notice so should hopefully be timed nicely

Pay day this week, which included my bonus, although a tiny amount because I was on maternity leave last year
Not spent this months pay yet as I'm waiting to find out how much the heating repairs will cost, and the insurance company still haven't paid out :mad:Jan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

Emailed the insurance company again today to chase!! Not impressed with how slow they are especially as I have used all of my emergency fund and my savings (which includes money out aside for car tax and MOT which are due next month)
I've listed some of the little mans clothes on eBay, if they sell the money will go into his account, could do with the space so have started at £4.99 for 50 items so fingers crossed. Also listed some of my excess Avon stock as it's just becoming clutter.
Off to take tenancy agreement to new tenant shortly so she can read through and signthe off to family for Sunday lunch with my little man whilst the other half is at work

Wow you are going through a lot. I want to say congrats on your job but with the news of redundancies as well... I don't know what to say!
Sorry about insurance being a pain, but at least you have a new tenant lined up!0 -
Thanks, I know I'm guaranteed a job for 12 months to cover maternity leave and the chances of redundancy are quite slim at my grade they are mostly cutting the two levels above me and we are only allowed to apply for jobs at our own grade. I'm sure they know who they want so not sure why they have to drag out the process for two months.
Today is my day off, I've been to the local library with my little boy. He's now fast asleep after making his little Easter basket.
Two items sold on eBay so going to package them up whilst the little one is snoozing. Have a good weekend allJan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

We've been to the Sea Life centre today, courtesy of some free tickets my Daddy managed to get for us :T
It was a nice day and our little boy enjoyed looking at the Penguins, fish and turtles - he wasn't so keen on the Sharks. Not sure we would have paid the £20 each  to go in if we hadn't had freebie tickets.
Had a little afternoon nap when we got back then tided the little mans room - one small child can make such a mess when let loose!
Took the EBay sales to the Post Office, the bundle of baby clothes cost £16 to send :mad::( lesson learnt for next time - I now know why people sell in small bundles!
Just awaiting the food shopping to be delivered, although the plan for tea is out of stock and has also put us below the threshold for cheaper delivery
Have a good evening all :beer:Jan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

Feeling sooo down today
the insurance company have said they want to send someone out to the house to look at the work that was done, which is fine, but the first available appointment is the 10th April  I have already been waiting a couple of weeks and I have used every penny I had to pay for the work. I also still need to replace the carpets in the house, with new tenant wanting to move in on the 8th as she has given notice to previous landlord :wall: I'm so fed up, I just don't know what to do!
And work has been quiet so more time to feel downJan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

Still nothing from the insurance company
On a more positive note we took the little man to see Mr Bloom at the local shopping centre today, quit impressed with his attention span. And when I went to pay it should have been £1.10 but the machine gave me 90p change so someone must have left money in the machine :rotfl:Jan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

>.< Ahh the insurance. What a nightmare.
What is Mr Bloom?
Out of curiousity, but feel no need to answer, did you decide on your Junior ISA?0 -
Mr Bloom is a TV character on CBeebies, he grows vegetables and sings
Yes I went with Nationwide, I've set up a standing order from next pay day (will have started the new job then so payrise), hopefully we can encourage him as he grows up that wise spending is needed - if it starts to prove otherwise as he grows up then we can invest funds for him elsewhereJan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000
