Had a lovely nap yesterday afternoon and the little man had fun going to the park with the childminder.

Not done a lot today, struggling to find the motivation to do anything. Had another nap today - no wonder I'm so tired on work days - no time for naps!

Oops not posted for a week :p although I have been reading the updates of others.

Feel a bit in limbo not knowing whether I have a job to go back to after my secondment, even though it's 12 months away! I should hopefully find out Wednesday :). If I get redundancy I will use the payoff to clear a chunk of my debt but I'll need to build up my self employed income (recruiting Avon reps) in the meantime so I have some pennies to live off. If I could build it up enough I would consider doing my Avon work full time as it would make childcare a lot easier. And when the little man turns 3 and gets 30 hours a week paid for childcare that will be :j:j

The little man has gone for an afternoon drive with Daddy, so I don't really know what to do with myself, I wish I was more motivated!

Hope everyone is well, have a good weekend

Thought I'd post whilst my little man is napping :A

Went out for dinner last night, had a lovely steak but do feel guilty whilst in debt. OH paid for the meal, and he has no debt so I suppose it's his choice what he spends his money on, still feel guilty none the less.

Pork is in the oven cooking away slowly ready for when OH finishes work, starting to feel hungry now!

These weekends seem to go far too quickly, and work is only around the corner again :(

I found out this week that I don't have a role as part of our restructure at work, I am currently covering maternity leave which I can finish and then I will be redundant. This would mean a massive chunk of my debt could be paid in a lump sum so I'm tempted not to look for another role within the company and hope I find something else pretty quickly.

Today's my day off and I've been sorting a few bits around the house and packing a bag as we are going to stay with family over the weekend.

    :D

Not posted for a while as progress has been slow, although I have been reading others diaries.

Had a lovely few days away with the family, much needed rest! And managed to make it ten days off work with my days off and the weekends which was great, but a shock to the system going back after the Bank Holiday. And the realisation that once my secondment finishes I don't have a job kicked in after holiday mode.

The progress in paying off the car loan is slower than anticipated as unfortunately the OH doesn't have much work at the minute so the extra payments I'd planned on making from my payrise are now going on bills and much smaller payments.

And I'm STILL waiting for the insurance on the rental house, I have complained and I am told I will get a response by 24th June - not holding my breath on that one! But if they cover some of the loss in rent (which I'm having to cover from my salary!) I may be able to make an overpayment to the car loan.

I seem to be getting headaches (and sometimes migraines) more often now and just have to go straight to bed, I'm sure it's to do with my poor diet! Would welcome any healthy snack suggestions to take to work :money:

Hope everyone's having a good weekend, the weather here is wet and miserable

Not really got much motivation to do anything today, feels like a wasted day. My little boy has gone swimming with his Daddy so at least he's having some fun.

Hopefully I'll get a better nights sleep and wake up with some motivation tomorrow :p

Hi Laura, you just sound like a wonderful person. I am in a lot of debt, went with Payplan over 10 years ago, and won't have paid off my debts until 2078, I will hopefully be long dead. Going to have a go at Stepchange, as I am getting no where very slowly.
Do you have to provide a payslip, as I do not want to not pay my credit union debt just nearly £3000, as they will not deal with Stepchange, so I hope to pay them off in a small amounts of overtime etc.
I am so relieved to have come to a point where I have admitted I cannot carry on like this, and have a life. Good luck to you, and if I won the lottery I would pay off your debts for you. :j

    Hi Pepper

    Thanks for replying :-)
Step change asked for proof of income, either a payslip or bank statement to show earnings. I pay into a share save scheme which I wanted to keep as its my repayment for my shared equity and they were fine with that. I'm sure if you explain that it's overtime so not guaranteed they won't take it into account.

I'm sorry to hear that you are being made redundant, have you started looking outside the company? If you allocate all of your redundancy to debt repayment and you try to get assistance from the state, you might be told that it is deprivation of assets. But I'm sure that you'll get a job.

Also, don't feel guilty about the nice meal, everyone needs a treat. Just not too many :)

I haven't started looking for another job yet as I'm covering maternity leave until next May so won't be leaving until that finishes so I plan to start looking early next year. My other option is to make my Avon business full time once I finish work, so I'll hopefully, still have an income coming in.

I'm not sure if it's more helpful having a year to decide what to do or whether I would have been better just leaving straight away.
