  • LL - sending hugs your way.

Had a nice day today, started off baking cupcakes for neighbour, followed by preparations for decorating 3 rooms!!

Just had a lovely long soak in bath, defuzzed, and exfoliated everywhere, had a facial, moisturised all over, and actually put a hairdryer to my hair (normally let it dry naturally) and currently sitting here with Velcro rollers in. Getting picked up at 7 by friend, we are having a girly Chinese out, as hubby and her fella are out on a boys reunion.

Have a good weekend everyone :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Evening and Happy Fab Friday!!

    Hugs to you LL
Thanks for the advice maman :)

Today, well tonight my good eating has gone out the window and I'm having pizza and chips for tea and i've already had some biccies!! Ladies time is arriving :( and I always feel a little bit lousy plus OH's dad really knocked himself up by falling down a hole and bruising his ribs and muscles Tuesday so OH is doing his normal work then his and his dads in the evening so it's taking him longer, therefore our nights are later but mornings still early (although OH's are earlier than mine by about 3hours (4.30am) ) FIL2B is doing OK but he can't really lift or do much past paperwork at the moment.

Sorry didn't mean to moan!!! I feel bad for OH as he is really quite tired and also stressed trying to stop his dad attempting to help. When he gets home he keeps apologizing for being late bless him. He can walk from where they do the work back home so he isn't far away (it's there own company) so I sometimes pop up to check on him and make him a drink :)
Anyway, will be back on to the healthy eating tomorrow properly and will have a fab saturday again!

    Hugs all round xx

Am a bit late reporting in, but my Fab Friday started at 6am...shower, shampoo, clothed, make-up, in the car and off to Cake International in Manchester where I was entering a cake design (which was then used as their Facebook cover photo :))...when I got back home it was time for the rugby (woohoo England!!).

LL, I'm sure things will feel different soon - I always remember the counsellor at my mums hospice told me that grief takes at least a year as one has to get past every memorable date without the loved one. Time is a great healer for the loss of such a close and beloved member of a family.

Morning All - great evening last night with the tribute band - they're REALLY good!
Beluga - a coffe date with DH & Maddie lunch with your DH- how lovely & well worth the fabbing.

Its good to see how everyone is making an effort to fab themselves even when RL gets in the way.

I've been invited to take part in a trial at my local hospital for a new type of asthma inhaler. Its just the inhaler they are trying - not the drug & they've also aked if I would be willing to have a blood test for trials into whether asthma could be genetic. So fabbing to do today & make sure I can roll my sleeves up - haha
Have a good fabby day everyone

    Good morning lovely ladies

Just a quickie to let you know that, finally, after 4 days, that blasted headache has lifted. Wahoo:D I feel almost human.

Had a good sleep and feel much brighter today. Amazing what a decent nights sleep will do.

I'm as stiff as hell this morning though so I'm now just going to have a nice long warm bath, with some Dead Sea salts to losen up a bit.

Thank you so much for aLl your kind thoughts. This wek was very difficult, much worse than I anticipated, and oddly enough, more difficult than Christmas which went surprisingly well.

I guess you are right about the first year being the worst, each red letter day, ie birthdays, anniversaries etc is a fresh challenge.

I keep telling myself that it will soon be Spring and that I will feel better once the warmer weather is here.

    I have made a decision.......

On Monday I am going to ring the Fibro clinic and book a consultation. Let's see if I can get this one licked. I successfully tackled the Gord and the worst of th IBS, and now longer need any prescription meds, so whacking the Fibro is the next step of my master plan to wellness.....

Not sure what the weekend holds. DA2 is off but he too is desperately tired. Just a bit of gentle pottering I think.

Even he is looking a bit peaky and he's only 28. ;) I think we are both just in need of some warm sunshine.

It's grey, cold and miserable here. Will wear my bright blue mini sweater dress over my navy jeggings and a bright scarf in shades of blues and turqoise. Warm and cheerful. :D

Have a good weekend, stay warm.

Maman I'm a 12 in Matalan and a s/m in a Hush if that helps? I think they say 10/12. I found them a few months ago via amodelrecommends blog and now own 5 jumpers, 2 skirts and a dress. Worth sitting tight for the sales.

Thanks for that hex. I've ordered the skirt and it should be winging it's way to me.:) The one I've got is Matalan and I'm amazed how useful it's been. I've worn it for work type meetings but also out for dinner.
....and slathered my hands in hand cream and vaseline before putting on cotton gloves to sleep in. Hands also feel nice and soft and smooth today! I even polished the boots that I am wearing today, so I feel pretty smug.

I've been doing that with my feet this week. I've got little cotton socks (like trainer socks) that DD bought e from Body Shop. I think one more slathering and the tub of cream will be gone then I need to look in my stash to see what needs using up next.

I've got an appointment for eyebrow wax on Monday and I'll have manicure/pedicure too (different salon) if they can fit me in, otherwise later in the week.

Thanks for the reminder about boots. My knee length ones could certainly do with a polish.
.....followed by preparations for decorating 3 rooms!!

Hope you enjoyed your night out rubies. I'm ashamed at how little I've done about much needed decorating. 5 weeks into the year and all I've done is send for some paint charts and I've got a few ideas I my head. Must try harder.:o

:Ton seeing the back of the headache LL and :T on the cake design floss.

I joined in Fab Friday. I'm getting so much better at blow drying my hair since asking advice on here. I'm still using same mousse but less so it's not so claggy and the partitioning really helps. Not quite salon standard but I'm pleased with it.:)

I had an unexpected meeting so wore my purple shift dress with little black cardi and opaques. Subtle make up, heels and newly blow dried hair and I felt great. I certainly operate better when I'm feeling good about myself.

Not much on today, just pottering and a bit of cooking. We've a wedding next weekend and as I'm wearing the size 8 dress:eek: I must eat really healthily this week. I've noticed a couple of squares of chocolate and/or cracker and cheese creeping into my evenings. It's not much but it soon adds a couple of pounds. It's not as if I'm even hungry, just sharing what DH is having.

Bright but cold here. Have a good day all.:A

    Hi, everyone

Sorry, I have been MIA for weeks now. I got a bit overwhelmed with all the updates on the thread :o, my work has taken over my life :(, and trying to sort my Mam's estate (with poisonous siblings), all took their toll.

Never mind, light at the end of the tunnel, now, including that this week marked the anniversary of Mam dying. I felt so ill with anxiety for days before hand - felt I was back in that awful time. But I am now coming out the other end, and look!...it's getting lighter in the mornings and evenings, and snowdrops are pushing up through the soil :).

On the fabbing side, some of it has gone astray, but some has worked well - I have worn my new coats, a beautiful Italian silk scarf I bought years ago (and it was always "too lovely to wear"). I also have used more varied jewellery than usual including my Mam's eternity ring and brooches also from my Mam (why have I never used brooches?? - they are so pretty to brighten a coat or jacket), and I have managed to keep my fingernails scrubbed and shaped.

Strangely, I have also noticed that not only does my mood lift when I wear my pink duffle coat, but men also open doors for me and smile at me...coincidence? I thought so, but it definitely happens... :rotfl:

But, definitely still room for improvement. I have managed not to resort to alcohol when feeling down, but my diet has gone to pot, especially the last couple of weeks, when I have been so overwhelmed with anxiety and tiredness that I couldn't decide what to eat let alone cook it. So, I have plans to pull myself back into line again. I don't want to get to a lovely warm spring day and feel cr4p because I haven't lost the weight I need to.

I haven't any hope of catching up on the thread, but will pop in as and when I can. I hope you are all ok.

    Big hugs

    LB xx

So pleased for you LL that the headache has gone & well done on the decision to tackle the fibro - I'm sure that with your determination you will crack it.
Lavender - you've managed to get a fraught time behind you now you can focus on a little 'me' time.
For all of you with trials & tribulations please be gentle with yourselves & fab when you can.

Hello all - it seems like ages since I last posted.
I've had a busy work week, including meeting new people etc. although it was a casual dress code I felt really scruffy next to everyone else.
I think my main problem is that I really suit colours like brown, deep purple/aubergine but there's not a lot of it about so Ive been wearing black, charcoal etc or a brighter purple and I know these don't look so good.

So I've taken control and actually found a few nice tops in brown, dug out a brown bag and bid on a brown leather jacket on eBay! I figure that just using/wear 1-2 of these will make me feel like I'm a bit more "put together" IYSWIM.

Other than this, I'm feeling quite healthy (& energetic, for me) - I've started taking vits b, d and fish oil and its made a huge difference.

Although I still have a huge amount of weight to lose and not managed to join the gym yet. Perhaps tomorrow...
