Sorry Greenbee - can't do hard boiled eggs, they make me gag. Sorry if that's tmi. :rotfl:
Your new hair syle sounds fab. I must make an appt and get mine done.
I'm not sure whether to try someone else I've been a bit disappointed the last couple of times.
HAd a nice evening with my boys, a nice supper then just chilling and chatting.
Good night all xx
a quick tidy round and then slather my legs and feet before I go to bed, my skin feels really dry and itchy at the moment.0 -
Morning all:)
ll your post about your DH and your date nights was beautiful - it brought a tear and a smile to my face.
Greenbee your hair sounds lovely:) as part of my drive to be more mse, I dropped my super expensive salon appointments and switched to a mobile hairdresser recommended by a friend. She's a lovely lady, and I've certainly never had any disasters with her (plus I'm playing less than half what I used to pay), but it's just not really the same. She doesn't vary anything other than to cut a bit shorter if I ask, if I want a change in colour she simply puts more than usual of the darker or lighter shade in and seems unwilling to go for a completely different shade, and when I dry my hair now, I have to work so much harder at it; previously my stylist had a knack of cutting it so it fell "just so" when I dried it. You get what you pay for sometimes, I suppose - I'd feel really guilty if I stopped having her now, too!
As is often the case, I've only managed to wash my face and brush my teeth this morning, in between pleading with teenaged youngest to get up, eat his brekkie and head to the bathroom. Have made his lunch and when he's finally ready, I'll drive him to school (about 45 minute to an hours' round trip), stop for any errands on the way back and probably walk the dog as soon as I get back.
THEN I'll finally get to shower, and make myself presentable - when I'm home for the rest of the day with no one else to see me!
It's true that it's nice to look good for those we live with, but to the outside world, I spend a lot of time looking like I've been dragged through a hedge!
The answer would be to get up even earlier I suppose - not easy on these dark mornings though
Will make a list later - thanks for that suggestion maman - to be really honest I think I'm a bit down in the dumps and it's making me a bit lazy! Time to stop wallowing and write my chores down and stick to them!
Oops!! Didn't mean to waffle quite so much:D have a good day everyone:)0 -
I think I may need to have a look at the clothes I wear when I'm volunteering! I have a couple of outfits I wear to the shop as I tend to be up ladders, on the floor etc so I don't want to wear my regular stuff. Anyway, the manager of the shop held a dress up yesterday and said she thought it would be good for me, it was 2 sizes larger than I actually wear! I thought, if that's what she thinks would fit me then my shop clothes aren't fitted enough!
I bought a belt straight away.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning Everyone,
I've got a morning at home today before I go off to work at 1.30. I'm already dressed in a work outfit so shall put on an apron before I start cooking. I need to run the straighteners over my hair and was going to wait till I went to work, but have decided to go and do it now after reading the thread!
I had my busy exercise day yesterday - a 3 mile run in the morning and Circuits and Aerobics last night - so today is a rest day and will only include walking to work and back. I lost another one and a quarter pounds in my Weight Loss Challenge last night but am still not down to my pre-Christmas weight. Just a pound and three quarters to go though to be back to under 10 stone. I suppose it doesn't matter how slow it is as long as it continues down.
I'm doing loads of cooking this morning as I have all the family coming for the weekend and am doing a buffet for 15. I want to make some puddings this morning so shall have to be careful not to keep tasting which is usually my downfall. I've only got 2 staying so just need to finish getting the guest room sorted. DH and I use it as a dressing room but I've cleared all the clothes etc, it's just piles of DH's stuff that he intends putting on ebay and still hasn't got round to. If time, I'd also like to repaint above the window as its got some mould on it from putting wet clothes in to dry there last winter.
Today's outfit is a knee length black wrap dress with tiny white spots in a nice soft jersey, a pink and black striped cropped cardigan, black opaques and black boots. Tomorrow's outfit will have to be chosen carefully as I need to go from Yoga to coffee with friends to a business lunch at a local hotel to hairdressers to being ready for DD and partner to arrive. I still haven't decided quite what to wear yet.
CW I never set an alarm unless it's absolutely vital (only once every couple of months) and so just get up whenever I wake. It can vary from half six to half eight but I am usually up around 7 to 7.30 and I'm sure it helps not to be woken by an alarm every day. I am usually bouncing with energy in a morning and am definitely a lark not an owl. Very occasionally I will get up early and then go back to bed after about an hour for a snuggle with DH and fall back asleep but its quite rare.
Have a good day everyone.

What a cheeky so n so... 2 sizes bigger
don't let that get you down its her rudeness. Although I can never ever judge people's sizes but that is too far.
A lot of snow here today and said y-day I would take a shift at my other job- not sure why I said that... Doh!! Main roads will be fine I'm sure xx0 -
Morning Fabbers
5:2 day today & a Yoga session this evening so won't have anything until about 8pm tonight. I drink loads though! (NOT alcohol)
I don't usually fab but I will put some mascara & lipstick on when I go out this afternoon as I usually drop in to DS1 for a coffee & chat, then into Aldi & then to Yoga so I do a little 'round trip'
DH didn't have a very good night so he's still in the land of nod - is that a good excuse for me NOT to put the cleaner round? Yes - thought so, I'll wash the kitchen floor instead.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Thanks sweetcheeks. I think it's gone to her head that she won slimmer of the month at her slimming club, she's now down to the size she thinks I am - so maybe she's flattering herself a bit thinking she's a similar size to me!
I've just got back from the hairdresser, where I was complimented on my new look, and I wore a skirt I haven't been able to fit into comfortably for a little while so that's a good thing.0 -
Morning all
Not feeling great and haven't done any fabbing at all yet! Am working from home given the "thundersnow" blizzards last night and it is still snowing.
I am supposed to be going out with work friends tomorrow night so hope I can make it to the office then.
Right now though I just feel like I could do with going back to sleep for a few hours, this illness has really knocked me for six
I have forced myself to get dressed, put some perfume on, and am now knocking back an energy drink!0 -

I suppose she's just dreaming!!
Thanks for your kind words rummer. As a SW convert (for that read bore) I'm so impressed at how you can lose weight through healthy eating that I want everyone to do it!! Tips I've picked up on OS and SW boards are to put as much veg in a meal as possible when you're cooking it as well as serving alongside. I think the OS reason is cutting the expense of meat but I think it just makes a meal even healthier. So my savoury mince (delicious old fashioned meal I've rediscovered recently) has carrots, onions, peas and mushrooms in it before I serve it with perhaps cauli & broccoli or cabbage.
Love the sound of your outfit rose.
I think it's best to adopt a uniform for work alec even if there isn't an official one IYSWIM. So think up a few variations on a theme that will suit all the climbing and stretching you have to do in the shop.
I've done all the basics including a defuzz this morning. Must go and blow dry my hair NOW! Back later.:)0 -
Hi all - need to get my roots done. DGD does them but lately I've found the colour doesn't seem to 'stay' on the white hair around the sides of my face - I usually go for something like Light Ash Blonde/Pale Blonde,Frosted Blonde (nothing with red or gold in it) as I don't want my roots to show drastically ( must be 90pct white as I started going grey at 18 - runs in the family!)
Any recommendations gratefully received!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
