Lessonlearned thank you for sharing such lovely stories about your late OH, it reminded me to enjoy what I have and you're right my OH is fine with however I look but it's nice to see a little raise of his eyebrows and glint in his eye when I put the effort it
I used to love getting dressed up and would never leave the house without looking my best but as life got tougher I just ran out of energy to do it. I feel so much better when I take care of myself though and it certainly does reinforce the message that you're worth the effort. I think that maybe where my problem lies- a lot of the time I don't think I'm worth it
Today I showered, hair washed, scented lotion applied, skincare done and make up applied and felt nice. I've taken my make up off, cleansed and moisturised and now I'm treating myself to an early night!Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Well done MissMoneysave - cracking start.
Bagged up all mums clothes, and bits and bobs today. They are all sat in my lounge, I'm go into have to go through them tomorrow and make some decisions. I hate this.......
I fell off the wagon today with a severe case of the evening munchies. Oh well as long as it's just one day. Tomorrow is another day.0 -
Good morning
Fab Friday today......
We've had a light dusting of snow and it looks really cold out there, so I am going to have an at home day and just quietly get on with sorting out "stuff and just generally potter about, a facial and an eyebrow tidy.
have a good day, keep warm.0 -
Morning everyone, just nipping in to say hi. I'll just be knocking around the house today so I'm just very casual but I've still done the basics so I could nip out without any fuss should the need arise.
No snow here, but it's a little bit chilly. Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Morning all Fabby Friday today & thank you all so much for the tips & advice you've given me on my hair colour. I think its just very resistant now so I'm tempted to go even lighter so eventually I'm back 'au naturel'
Its taken me ages to grow my hair to a longish bob so I'm loathe to cut it off and start again!
Greenbee - can you pm me please with your hairdresser?
Weighed myself this morning & I've lost a bit so sig updated. Got a dental appointment this morning so perfume (not strong) & make up applied - no lipstick until she's finished!
Have a fabby day everyoneSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Hi all:)
Very basic fabbing done today as I'm at home most of the day (what's new!!:D)
This thread's having a good influence - not only am I back into the habit of using body moisturiser daily, and filing and painting my nails instead of just cutting them, but I'm inspired by all the talk of healthy eating to dig out my old SW books and try to follow the plan next week!
Losing a bit of weight would do wonders for my self confidence.
Have a good Friday, fabbers:)0 -
It's been a glorious day here although it's a bit cold. The sun was so bright I had my sunglasses on this morning!
Joined in fab Friday. Smartly dressed and made up and out of the door first thing this morning. Quite formal today as I had a meeting but now I'm home I've put some lounging about clothes on.;)
Got my food shopping done while I was out as well so plenty of time for me over the weekend.:)0 -
Hello Fabbers! I managed to look presentable today however fab would be overly generous a term to use :rotfl:
I have stuck reasonably well to my healthy eating plan and lost another 3lbs this week so I am delighted about the change. The healthy eating has also improved my digestion and I feel better for it.
My general fabbing habits are now firmly embedded and I have been keeping up the skincare and haircare regime I put in place and have now added in a nail pamper each evening too.
Also making a real effort to exercise every second day and have been enjoying the two DVDs I have chosen so good habits forming all round :jTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Happy Friday!
The weather's been awful here so I've been going more for warm and dry than fab tbh! This morning it was freezing, my bus didn't show so had to wait half an hour for the next one, then was late so rushed to my meeting, arrived windswept and bedraggled.
Trimmed my hair yesterday and went for a potter round the shops, picked up a nice grey polo neck jumper for £5 in M&S and a shirt dress I'd had my eye on but refused to pay full price for reduced by 70%.
I'm off to the theatre tomorrow, so will try to wear something nice. I'll have a bath and do my nails tonight, can't decide what colour to go for though!0 -
Evening Everyone,
Well, I think I am ready for the hordes tomorrow. I've boiled 2 hams, roasted 2 chickens, got all the potatoes ready for potato salad, made cheesecake, sticky toffee puddings, apple crumble, chocolate cornflake cakes and fruit cake and got stuff for a cheese board and various salads. I've also made red onion marmalade to serve with the meats and got various pates. DH is going to make a load of bread rolls tomorrow morning and made a loaf ready for bacon or fried egg sandwiches for breakfast in the morning. DD is due about half eleven tonight, then DS and family will be here for breakfast and my sisters and families, mother and ex husband and ex mother in law will be here at lunchtime!!
I've planned my outfits for the weekend and had my hair cut and highlighted this afternoon. I am really pleased with it - the colour is lovely (strands of honey and light blond) and the style looks really chic. I've kept the length at the front (just below the chin) and had it a bit shorter at the back (just above collar length). I just hope it looks equally good tomorrow.
Now all I have to do is keep awake till DD arrives!
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
