  • I absolutely love your thread and have been so inspired. I'm proud to say I've got the shellac done on my nails this morning, plus eyebrows waxed and tinted and pedicure. I'm feeling better already.

I have had a difficult couple of years and need to look after myself a bit, not just poorly DH. I work full time so I'm going to spend some of my salary on fabbing.

Good for you juliapenguin:) sounds like you deserve it!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday Tooties:)
Enjoy the theatre maman, and hope everyone has a great Saturday:)
No fabbing yesterday but used a face pack this morning for the first time in years and blow dried my hair instead of leaving it to dry and then running straighteners through!
Also finished off a pot of body moisturiser - got quite a stash to use up.
Tackled some ironing earlier so going to curl up with a book and a cuppa now for an hour:)

    Good evening ladies

Welcome to the thread juliapenguin :)

My new boots have arrived! Super pleased and looking forward to wearing them to work once I sort the trouser situation.

Minimal fabbing for me today - I did break a nail unfortunately so have had to file that down and will probably do the others at some point too. :(

    Good evening all,

thank you all for the birthday wishes, i had a fab day.

Done all my usual fabbing today and was planning a quietish day but more family and friends came to visit. Its lovely to see people but do they all have to come at the same time or is that me being ungrateful.

I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps and sorry for myself the last few days. I cant wait to get back to my more usual self.

My big tub of body butter is going down. i haven't used this amount before-normally they get binned after using just a tiny amount and lying around in a drawer for a couple of years.

Heres hoping i feel better tomorrow because i am definately having a quiet day.

Keep feeling fab fabbers and have a good night

    regards
    :j

    Thank you for the welcome!

I've fallen into the trap of thinking that I will take better care of myself when I've lost the weight, but of course that's getting it all the wrong way round.

I'd already started doing a bit of fabbing before I discovered you but now I'm super inspired (I'm still stunned at how beautiful my shimmery silvery grey shellacked nails are - and I've NEVER had nice nails).

All-day choir rehearsal for me so I need to be comfortable, but I feel so frumpy compared to everyone else. I really need to go clothes shopping....

    Have a great Sunday.

    Morning All

Bath running - goodies laid out for fabbing. Will do moisture mask, defuzz, fingernails & feeties and moisturise all over. Hair wash, condition & proper blowdry & DH will make me a coffee - Bliss!!
Just sorting out what to wear for the rest of the day. Looking at straight jeans, ankle boots a nice top & a scarf to match. I've decided that I suit a scarf and they do give a 'lift' to an outfit (oooh - get me!)
    Have a good day everyone

    Good morning lovely ladies

First the weigh in - stayed the same alas, but hey I didn't put any on, so not all bad news. It's my own fault I did slip off the Paleo wagon and ended up eating carbs for a couple days, with the inevitable results. My poor tum was not happy. I think the proof of the pudding really is In the eating for me, so I now know what to do.

The big problem is getting sufficiently organised with the shopping and making sure I have easy quick foods for when time pressed. The other flash point is when I'm out and about. Unfortunately most coffee houses etc tend not to be Paleo friendly. Still I'm learning all the time and have finally got my head round it all. I think that's half the battle. Get the mindset right and the rest follows. Anyway I'm back on track now, so hopefully Ill start losing weight again next week.

They had a second go at delivering my mirrored glass chest of drawers. Again it arrived smashed, so I have given up with that idea. A shame because it fitted a little alcove and would have been a perfect match for the mirrored wardrobe doors. So I've had a rethink and will buy a plain untreated wood one and paint it pale Paris grey to match the one that now stands on the landing.

Went to IKEA yesterday afternoon, had to exchange a couple of items so whilst there I bought some extra bits and pieces, some of those drawer divider thingies to help tame the clutter, a nice art print, some tall latte glasses and some.storage jars for the kitchen. I do enjoy a good browse round IKEA. Actually I was quite restrained yesterday, only spent £45, a bit of a record for me.

Afterwards we had a lovely supper in Nandos. I found it very easy to eat Paleo style there.

Not sure about today yet, I'm still feeling a bit sore from my massage on Friday but the sun is shining here so I might go into the garden to repot our two baby Christmas trees. I also found some tulip bulbs lurking in a cupboard so will bung them in a pit. A bit late but they've got two chances.

Fab wise all is good, im keeping up with the basics but I really need to book a hair appt.

    Time to start the day......

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. ;)

Welcome Julia, so pleased you're looking after yourself. When I joined this thread I was overweight. Slimming World worked for me but lots on here are doing 5:2, Paleo or whatever. I think it's mindful eating that matters. When I was losing I just bought minimal bits from cheapish places (Matalan, George etc) and also chazza shops just to see me through while I was changing sizes. So I wouldn't spend too much on clothes yet but make up, beauty treatments, hair, handbags.......;)

Glad the new boots have arrived DD, start wearing them ASAP to get your money's worth!!:rotfl:

That sounds great. I love a chip supper!! At the moment I'm trying to keep my weight at it's lowest to make sure I fit my new dress but it's definitely on the agenda for a treat. I do hope you all had a good time. How far on are you with wedding plans?

Totally agree. I wear scarves most days as they do give a lift but also make an outfit more put together. I saw a woman on one of the cold days last week in a long black coat but she had an acid yellow scarf with it and it looked amazing.

I treated myself to this lovely jacket. Ordered on line so it's not with me yet. My DD1 bought one and I liked it so much I just had to have one of my own. As you can see from the picture, it looks great with jeans but it's smart enough to wear with a skirt or dress too.

I'm just pottering at home today. All basic fabbing done and hair blow dried. I'm wearing jeans, a grey long sleeved top and then a little fair isle French Connection waistcoat (CS buy). Looking forward to a roast later. Doing this JO recipe, it's delicious:

although my joint is boneless so it won't take so long.

    Have a good day all.

Good day ladies, grey and cold here today and I am still in my PJ's, in mitigation I have been rather poorly with a tummy upset, but feeling brighter and have been doing some tidying and gentle chores, will have a cup of coffee and then have an hour or so fabbing and make some soup ready for OH's return for a late lunch:D

LL - when I first began having trouble eating carbs and sugar, I found that my body could cope with a small amount if only eaten occasionally but, I was so annoyed at only being able to buy huge sugar laden cakes, muffins etc when out too, for me the solution is to throw a couple of those little Baby B*l wrapped cheeses into my bag when I go out, the protein hit fills me up and it is easy to eat discretely or before leaving the car. (No good for those dairy free sadly). Envious of your Ikea visit, none near me sadly:(
