Oh LL - one of my fashion bloopers was a yellow & orange paisley mini dress that I wore when 8 months pregnant
Maman - the little metal toe & heel protectors were called Segs - I've still got some with my shoe polishes :)
I do really regret binning my two pairs of Biba canvas boots bought from Dorothy Perkins - saw them displayed in the V&A !!!!!! As you can guess I'm a shoeaholic but in my defence I do look after them - can't stand scruffy shoes on men or women. Its such a let down when shoes get overlooked.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Good Afternoon Fabbers,

I didn't get on here yesterday as i had such a hectic day. I only managed the most basic of fabbing yesterday.

I have been really tired and demotivted today as well, however, i pushed myself and done my usual level of fabbing today and i am so happy i did.

    Regards

I haven't been to the Belper one yet, my manager goes and she said it's very good. It's the Bakewell one that I have been to. Well done on your saving :T

It must be the day as after lighting the log burner I had a snooze :o only 30minutes but I have almost finished cleaning and organising the kitchen - the house has got lots of fabbing today but I have gotten none so far :( I did actually put a spritz of perfume on and do a very light makeup and flash of mascara, which has to be said made me feel a little glam (whilst I haven't gotten out of my pj's all day other than popping a bra on :rotfl: )

    I Love Bakewell

I lived for years in South Derbyshire and whilst it too has some lovely villages I want to move back to the north of the county. The boys are in the actual city of Derby which is great but I quite fancy Wirksworth or Crich for my next move,

I think Bakewell, Buxton Matlock might be just a bit too far but I'm keeping an open mind.

My poor old back is really giving me gyp now, managed to hoover upstairs but downstairs will have to wait till tomorrow

Aren't you cold in your pjs.:rotfl:

Tooties - it's hard to stay motivated when the weather is so horrible. It's so grey and miserable. All I want to do is sleep, doze and nap........

I definitely think the weather depletes the mojo!
Thanks for your post. maman, it inspired me to be kinder to myself on the days when I don't feel like a domestic goddess!
Your comment about reading the newspaper made me think, too; I've decided to do a bit of brain fabbing each day - even if it's just half an hour reading a good book:) - and not to feel guilty about it!
  • Hi all, sorry not been here for a while. DH doing okay after his heart diagnosis. He's having an exercise test tomorrow to see what he can and can't do as he loved to exercise before. I've started work one morning a week in the BHF shop. Only started last week and got 2 M&S sweaters for me, and two designer hoodies and a T shirt for my son. Good value with the staff discount, and I feel I'm helping out too.
  • Think i've gone OTT on fabbing today, but it's been nice. DD off work due to snow, so after a play with the boys, she pampered me, so i gave myself a lovely hot soak in bath and defuzzed, exfoliated and moisturised all over.

DD then waxed my eye brows and tinted them, blow dryed my hair and curled it, thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

Hello everyone, sounds like the fabbing's going well :)

I agree about shoes - I was on my feet all day yesterday and wore one of my pairs of Dr Martens, not very smart or work appropriate, but for stomping around town and going to a gig they were great :) They're lovely and soft leather (now they're worn in!), and I just can't be bothered with pretty but horribly uncomfortable shoes.

I'm not feeling too fab atm, spent Sunday in bed with a horrible cold (my throat was so sore I could hardly open my mouth and had a v sore face), got up and went out on Monday and felt much better so glad I made myself get out of bed! Yesterday was spent mostly waiting for buses and trying not to freeze! Was out from 10am till after midnight, so was knackered this morning!

Today I got tattooed, so dressed like a slob ( tattoo is on my back, so can't wear a bra atm, am wearing a halter neck tankini top under a hoodie and jeans). Currently feeling rather sore, but it will be worth it! The tattoo is part of my fabbing though, I've had a half finished back piece for over ten years, and was too embarassed to get it finished or show anyone. I was getting quite down about it and thought I'd never get it done, so quite proud of myself :) It still needs a little bit doing, but should only be another half hour or so. Will go back once it's healed. It wasn't cheap though, so any shopping will have to wait a while.

I'm having an early night with a movie and will do my nails I think.

    Happy fabbing all! x
  • Evening All,

I've just got back from Aerobics and Circuits classes - one and three quarter hours - so feel good. I feel even better having weighed in for the weight loss challenge and have lost two and a half pounds since last week. I'm still not down to my pre-Christmas weight but nearly there.

I had a day off today and thoroughly enjoyed myself, though no fabbing. I had a 3 mile run this morning and then after a bit of housework I reorganized another drawer and then got my sewing machine out. I made my daughter a reversible bag. It's black cord on the outside and the reversible side is tiny black and red flowers on a white background. It's a vintage print from the seventies that I fished out from my chest of fabrics I've been building up since I was about 11!!

I'm now going to snuggle up on the sofa with DH with a milky coffee that he's just made me and watch Broadchurch which we recorded earlier this week.

  • Oh beluga your tattoo sounds great, that will certainly lift your mood and cheer you up. I'd like to get one on my stomach lasered and then get redone. I'd also like one on my side/back just need to fit a tattooist work that I like... It's so hard. I have one that is of really poor workmanship- thankfully 20 years old so won't take much to fade it enough to cover it up. I'm going for vla bk & grey work I think without colour.

Nose starting to feel a bit better with the first defender stuff and cold meds.. Much better than y-day.

Fabbing going on is great. I only did the very basics today. I did try to brush on bronzer & mascara before running out door today.

    Take care everyone
