Found a pack of eyebrow waxing strips in my clearing out - so have used those which means I won't need to make an appt this side of Xmas :D - money saving and clutter clearing - win-win! :D Was quite impressed with results - couple of stray hairs to tweeze - but the salon always has a couple of those to do, anyway :) Have more left for using another time too

You certainly do Angry Bear, welcome.

You have done so well on the weight loss, you will look fab when you get glammed up and go out in your new dress and shoes

Don't lurk anymore, just keep posting as and when it suits you.

Couldn't agree more. Welcome angry bear.

I've no personal experience of 5:2 indie but I have a couple of friends who've had great success with it so certainly worth a try. They find days when they're really busy the best ones for having the fast days as it stops the thinking about food. Also choose days when you're completely in control of what you eat rather and plan well for it. Things like soups and salads and loads of veg are obvious low calories options.

That's very adventurous of you using eyebrow waxing strips greent. I've never used them. Do they have guidelines. I'm afraid I'd make a mistake:eek:.

Not much fabbing here today other than healthy meals. I've just been slopping around in jeans , an old hoodie and thermal socks :o. I did (with a coat over the top to hide the mess) nip out and get a couple of new lampshades for the table lamps in the dining room and some new everyday table mats. I looked in Curry's for a new radio but disappointing selection so will have to look elsewhere. I don't want to buy online as I want to read up how the sleep timer works.

Next occasion to dress up for is taking DD2 out to lunch and some shopping on Thursday for her birthday. Need to check the weather before I decide.

They're kind of shaped. I was much more cautious with the first brow I tried - and left a bit of excess as a result. Brow two was better :) My brows are quite fair, so I wasn't overly concerned if I had a gap, too - if you have darker brows I guess it could be more problematic! :D

I agree the 5:2 works - I lost 1.5 stone in 3 months in 2013. I've put back a few pounds since I stopped but I'm still below 9 stone and a size 8 so I'm OK with that :)

Chanie I looked a bit more at the personalities, I'm definitely a Natural too. I look best in my hiking gear! Luckily my job is physical so I can get away with being scruffy a lot of the time (not saying that Natural = scruffy - that's just me) but I do struggle when I need to dress up a bit! I don't think I'll ever manage 'glam' :rotfl:

I've been dong it for a couple of years and find it suits my lifestyle really well. I plan to keep 5:2-in forever, after all it's supposed to be good for you in lots of ways not just weight loss.

I'ge got rid of about 7 and a half stones - although I'll admit a fairly aggressive exercise regime now too :D.

In fact that's part of the reason I keep lurking about this thread. I used to be definitely "frumpy" but am starting to feel a bit more fabulous :p. I went shopping for a Christmas party dress recently and was over the moon that so many fitted and looked pretty good rather than just hoping to find one I could fit. :rotfl:

So I've got my new dress, some fancy shoes I need to practice walking in and have started actually wearing makeup (gasp) at the weekend. Do I qualify as a fab wannabe?

    Welcome to the thread.

Seriously impressive weight loss, I hope you're proud of yourself, guessing you must feel so much better for it.

I have about 2-3 stones I'd like to shift. I exercise a fair amount but you have to do serious amounts daily to be able to compete with the kind of calorie deficit you can achieve through controlling what you eat so I think I need to push harder on the diet bit. I guess I am down about a stone or so on my largest size - I say guess as I've quit weighing myself, am more focused on how my jeans fit (and I've gone down a size) / whether I have to tighten my belts (and I've had to have new holes punched).

Like a different person! If you'd told me before how much difference it would make to the way I felt I'd never have believed you :).

You could always try myfitnesspal (it's free :money:). I always find when I stop paying attention, the amount I eat creeps up - so tracking it somewhere at least keeps me realistic.

I do the same as indie and use my jeans to tell me if I'm keeping my weight under control. On average I only weigh about every 3-4 weeks.

Busy round the house today so I delayed my shower and pamper then got dressed in clean jeans etc. Sadly they feel really tight around the waist and particularly thighs:(. Unfortunately (from a healthy eating point of view) I'm eating out the next two days but when I do my meal plan/shop I think I'll be trying for even more veg and a few less carbs.

I'm expecting to put on a few pounds over Christmas period so I must try and keep things under control.

    Morning everyone.

I've had a stressful couple of days as my sister hasn't been well and so I've been helping out with her children, plus working. Luckily she is on the mend and things should be a bit easier now as I have a couple of days off.

In efforts to be more frugal, I made my own facial cleanser. I've been using a lush cleanser and found a recipe online. The ingredients should last at least two years I'm saving about £70 a year.
  • Sounds lovely chanie, could you share the recipe. I love pottering about with essential oil blends and hm skin products.
I have painted my nails yet again, I think that's 3 times in just over a week! They are nude with a very shiny top coat so should go with everything I'm planning on wearing over the next couple of days. Has anyone here got a uv lamp for doing shellac type nail polish as I've done a complete turnaround from someone who never does their nails to totally loving it :)
I'm just going out for my second walk of the morning, I'm in a pretty tough competition on my fit bit with friends, we do this every week, and I'm determined to win this week
konMarie and fabbing all the way

    :rotfl:Good Luck!!

That's an impressive saving chanie. Martin would be proud of you!:money:

I'm doing Fab Friday, more smart casual. I'm going out for a pub supper and then theatre. I find these days that people don't seem to dress up for the theatre much any more so I'm thinking smart jeans and a jacket and as they'll be dark I'll wear a bright orange/red top underneath. I think I'm going to wear tinted moisturiser fro the first time too as starting to look quite pasty.

Went for lunch and shopping with DD2 yesterday and although she didn't buy anything I had new shoes:o. I often thing the best buys come when you're not really looking. I bought these:
ETA: I can't get link to work but they're called Carlie in Jones the Bootmaker Sale

Really pleased with them as seem very comfortable. I needed to replace the supermarket black, sued shoes that I have. My posture improves instantly when I put heels on. I realised it's an age since I wore heels, too easy to go for flats. Must try harder.:)
