Frugal Frump to Fab - 2015

I did fab Friday today and it's much colder here already. Brrr!
I wore a White Stuff patterned grey, velvet skirt with a black top, turquoise cardi and black opaques and ballet flats.
I also picked up a deep green blouse in the sale in Debenhams. Very similar to this but the fabric has got self coloured dots embroidered over it. It also has hideous gold buttons on the cuffs but I can change those. For not much money it will satisfy my wish for a blouse, haven't owned one in years.0 -
I love that colour Maman! Rich jewel type shades suit me and I am always looking for suitable clothesTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Warm and casual fab Friday here today. OH and I met up with our friends and our dogs and wrapped up snugly for a lovely walk up a valley and then on to a favourite country pub for a yummy lunch:D
B and I have been best friends since the early 70's and we are so lucky that our OHs get along great, so there is much talking and laughter:D
Maman - love the colour of the shirt.
Indie - agree about sometimes being able to wear more colours when hair is grey, I have always loved purple, but couldn't wear it when younger, I seem to have acquired rather a lot of it now:D:D
Lollyfin - I hope that you enjoy your nail polish, I love wearing it and have every colour that suits me (and perhaps some that don't) it really cheers me up.
Rummer - great that you have a good knitting group too, our comprises all ages and back grounds, we have so many laughs as well as lots of putting the world to right, but there is no cattyness or cliques. I need to really get down to it and get some stuff finished, I enjoy the knitting, but hate the making up:(
chanie - the meatballs sound good, we are almost 2 hours from "that shop" and OH hates it with a passion:rotfl:
TheDapster - your maxi skirt and blanket top sound great. I think you should call on Gok, to my mind he really seems to love women and making them look good, the other two often seem unkind :eek:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I'm glad it meets with approval on here:D. It was in the Oasis franchise in a local Debenhams so might be worth a look. I was surprised it was reduced (better than half price from £35) as there's lots of that colour around at the moment.
That walk and pub lunch sounds great maddie. Always good to meet up with old friends.
I'm off to football this afternoon so well wrapped up today, all my thermals on!:rotfl:0 -
This thread has been quiet, I hope you are all busy fabbing
Busy weekend here so I am looking forward to a more relaxing week ahead. I have booked a hairdressers appointment to get a tidy up for the festive season which is much needed. Also going to see if there is a beauticians appointment to get a couple of things done.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I've got my first Christmas 'do' on December 4th and hair appointment booked for same day although I've been better lately in booking regular cuts/highlights in advance to try to keep my hair in good shape so this is just regular appointment that I've timed to fit in. My hairdresser is good but expensive so I always try to make the most of blow dry by having appointment on a day I'm going somewhere.
Still considering whether to buy something new for this occasion (dinner/dancing with OH's colleagues) or wear my purple lace dress as plenty of those still around. I'm still toying with the idea of a jumpsuit but if I do it has to be something light enough that I could take it on holiday in warm weather or so cheap (like the £20 in Matalan) that it wouldn't really matter if I only wore it a couple of times.
Still keeping up with basic fabbing. Nails are getting quite long and strong now, good sign that they're recovering from earlier in the year when they were splitting and dry. I'm keeping them in shape but may have shellac done for Christmas season if not before.0 -
Maman there are some nice jumpsuits in A$da if you have chance to look. I'm wearing my sequinned mini shift for my Christmas do, with opaque tights & high black velvet shoe boots. It was a Mataland bargain a couple of years ago, and my colleagues haven't seen it so no need to buy a new outfit
Roots tomorrow, hair-up on 4th December for do, highlights & cut on 10th for DH's birthday weekend & Christmas, nails on 3rd, 17th & 30th. Also having eyelash tint & eyebrow wax on 3rd, so my beautician will get his Christmas bonus early!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Evening all - and thanks for the welcome earlier on!
I've been keeping up the body polishing & moisturising and re-painted my toenails. Need to book an eyebrow appt before Xmas - had hair cut a week ago, so that'll be fine (will pop in week before Xmas on a quiet day for a fringe trim if necessary- have checked they'll be ok with me doing that!)
Only Xmas do I'm going on is a crazy party in a barn - and the dress code is apparently casual - and warm (as it can get chilly) so am in a bit of a tizz about what to wear to that - as I have NO idea what'll be fine! Men have it easier in that situation - OH has already decided upon boots, jeans, a smart casual shirt with either a waistcoat or a jumper and a smart casual jacket - warm, smart and casual - winner all round. Lots of lovely pre-Christmas pampering plans afoot ladies:D
My very active and pleasurable few days last week resulted in me completely running out of steam yesterday, so have had two lazy days. I have painted my nails in a lovely grape/plum shade, they looked awful after I had done them, but managed a pretty good clean up and really like the colour now. My poor dexterity is a nuisance, but I have loads of polishes and cannot afford to have them done professionally ATM, I am more comfortable spending my dosh on PT and massage therapist to try and keep everything moving, however creakily:rotfl::rotfl:
Early night beckons, OH are I have become terrible night owls since retirement, but I really need to go to bed earlier and rise sooner. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
