Freezing here! I'm in a fleecy top and jeans and am tempted to put the heating on for a bit:D
Hair washed but not much else done fab-wise - ashamed to say I've not been out all weekend;always a danger sign that my mood is slipping!
Menfolk are off at footie - I'll watch the game on TV with the Dog for company then cook a roast pork dinner for when they get back - with lots of veg ( I'll try to resist the bread and butter pud I've made them for dessert!)
Have a good week everyone x
ETA - rummer seeing your comment about straighteners; I've recently bought some new ghds as my old ones were not heating up as much either - the new ones are no better though:( I don't know if something has changed in the manufacturing of them but they're not a patch on the way my old ones were when I first got them!0 -
Not much fabbing here, it has been a messy week. We enjoyed a few days in Wales and returned (already tired and low in energy) on the day that mother tipped a kettle of just boiled water down her legs. My sis and I took it in turns to stay and get her to the doctors for repeat dressings, but she is doing well and happy to stay on her own now, she has amazing neighbours and friends fortunately. When I got home (and since) I was so zapped of energy:(
I am keeping up with my skincare routine and occasionally body moisturising, and hair looks good, even though latest coloured high lights don't seem to be lasting very well, not sure if hairdresser expected this, but she did say that she would re-do if necessary:)
hugs to those that are not well, hope things improve soon. Also hoping that LL's adventure is going well and everything that she hoped for.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
rummer I read that Jennifer Aniston tailors her clothes (not herself, of course). I think that's often why famous people have the edge over us mere mortals as their clothes fit like they were made for them.
maman hope you had a productive day of fabbing.
ellsbel don't be too hard in yourself if you've let the fabbing slip, we are all allowed a day off once in a while. Your dinner sounds lovely. I'm starving at the moment as OH has taken the children to his mums and said he'd bring me back some dinner.
maddie sorry to hear about your mum's accident. I hope she is okay. In terms of skincare, I've chosen products I enjoy using so it doesn't feel like a chore.
I've had a lazy day myself and haven't been out except to take DS to his swimming lesson this morning. I feel a bit restless if I spend the whole day at home, but I'm also tired and that has won!!!!!
I'm now about to embark on a power fab before my family get back, so I'm going to remove my nail varnish, body brush and exfoliate my feet. Bye for now.0 -
maddie I'm so sorry about your mum's accident
sounds very painful.
Hope everyone is ok.
Could you lovely ladies kindly give me a kick up the backside towards the end of the week if I haven't booked a hair appointment by then please?:D it'll be down to my ankles at this rate - and very, very two-tone!0 -
Good morning, I hope that everyone is well, warm and dry, not too much rain has fallen here, I realise how lucky we are though.
Thank you for good wishes about Ma, she is doing well, although she scalded the majority of both legs, it missed her feet so she is still mobile, and there is only one small area with a severe burn. Family member has bought a small "one cup" kettle for her, so hopefully she will be safer in future.
Massage day today, so looking forward to it as very stiff and in pain. I have looked out some joyful toiletries, which hopefully will help start the day off with a lift after using them.
I am having a trial morning next week, after having volunteered for a session at local Blue X shop, so that should give me some motivation (aka kick up bottom) to get myself fabbed and out the door before 10:00 am one morning a week if I am accepted. I would have preferred to be behind the scenes, but they need someone on the till. There is absolutely no reason why I cannot manage it, just need to tell myself so and frequently. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Good morning Fabbers
Just a quickie, because wifi is quite expensive.
Got off to a good start, currently heading towards the Azores, sunny and bright but not quite sunbathing weather just yet, another couple of days.
Ship is very comfortable, food is fab. although I'm trying to be good and not in puddings. It's actuLly very easy to stick with the paleo. The bay of biscay was a bit choppy but hopefully smooth sailing now.
Lots of nice ladies to chat to and have fun with.
Hope you are all well and keeping up the good work.
Off to find. Quiet niche and settle down with my book and some coffee...0 -
Its lovely to hear from you LL, it sounds like you are having a lovely time and I'm pleased you have made some friends on your trip.
Maddie I hope your trial at the shop goes well.0 -
Great to hear from you LL, thanks for thinking of us and great that you have some RLcompany too.
I'm sure you'll be fine at 'front of house' maddie, you always seem lovely and chatty on here and if you can work a computer you'll have no problem working a till. Let us know how you get on.
I'm feeling a bit unfab today. I've been busy doing paperwork, emails and phone calls all morning. Working from home is all very well but it's too easy too just slob around in an old pair of jeans. I know if I'd been going to a meeting and seeing RL people I'd have made much more effort. (ETA: just left computer to put on some perfume;)).
At least some house fabbing is happening. Flushed with success in decorating the sitting room, DH s now tackling the dining room. I've got some soft furnishing to do but may wait until decorating finished as my preferred place to work is at the dining room table. I could set up elsewhere but it would be fiddly.
Ellsbel have you booked that hairdo yet???0 -
Lovely to hear from you, LL - I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.
Nope, still haven't booked hair appointment mamanwill definitely try to get something booked in over the weekend.
I have to confess: I've slipped into a bit of a depression and everything feels like a massive challenge at the moment; I really hope it blows over soon.
Meantime, I'm showered and I have put on make up and perfume for work, so that's something.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x0 -
Ellsbel - sorry that you are struggling at the moment, I hope that it lifts soon for you. Do you have any "coping strategies" for when you feel the depression coming on? Music, walking, the gym? (I have some music by an American Indian lady, her voice is so pure and the native rythms so relaxing and uplifting, I used to play the CD's in the car, all around the house etc, a little obsessively perhaps:()
Great that you have managed the make up and perfume:), keep dropping by here and posting if you can.
MM x
I hope that everyone can keep dry and safe.:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
