Helping and soothing vibes for you Pigpen.
No, it's not too early on Christmas Eve to have a drink Jazee - the sun is over the yardarm. It's my first 'dry' Christmas and I am so relieved that I'm not going to be boozing. If anyone had asked me what I dreaded most about giving up I would have said not being able to drink during Christmas, but it feels great! Yesterday was Day 150, so I'm feeling pretty positive. Cheers to one and all!
They will hiss at you Dusty if you let them sniff the stranger cats' scent. I just impose it on them until they all stop hissing and spitting. That way when they come face to face with the strangers they don't smell like enemies.
Tidying, sorting out carp, WM x 3 and last minute shops visited by OH on the Barbican. I want to come back to a clean and tidy house on Boxing Day.
Chocaccino is probably having the busiest day of the year and they're coping with a flood coming from the flat about them.Better is good enough.0 -

Last I heard, Mr LW's place of work are knocking off at 15:00, so hopefully he'll be in by about 16:00. Then I have him underfoot for the next four days.:D Bring on the Frogs.....:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello again. Well done HB on not drinking. I actually only drink on my birthday and at Christmas/New Year time. Being married to an alcoholic, its best one of us is sober most of the time! Anyway, only orange juice and lemonade so far.
Going to read the paper before my peace and quiet is over.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Narcolepsy - I'm really pleased your DH is doing so well and will be out soon
Pigpen - no it isn't too much to expect them to help. I expect my 3 to help, aged 13, 17 and 19. They moan occasionally and I just ignore it.
I will finish off my wrapping shortly, not much to do now. Then I will go round Mum and Dad's for an early Christmas dinner. Unfortunately DS3 and DH won't be going because DS3 is still not well.£1000 Emergency Fund #175 - £598/£1000

Hiya everyone
NarcO - just keeping fingers xd for your DH today
YL - sounds like you maybe a bit run down. Maybe you need a nice big squishy (hug) and try to spoil yourself a bit
Gilly - a big (hug) for you too
Piggers - sending some soothing, calming vibes. I know you don't 'do' hugs. Make a cuppa and shut yourself away to wrap presents and leave them to it for a bit
I need a bit of support. I am running out of steam today so sitting with a cuppa. Is anyone ready for an
HH of some kind at 3.00 ??
so I can spur myself on to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors (all that's left to do now). Thanks

Yes I'll aim to blitz bedroom at 3.00 so I'm with you lynnejk
BIL and MIL just brought food round; they are going to visit Mr Narc0 then eat at the pub this eve. Must say I'm relieved as I can potter around, look after Mum then visit MrN at 6.30 without worrying about preparing food.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
pigpen No it isn't too much to ask. Hugs, whether you want them or not
Get well wishes, and love and hugs to all those poorly at the moment.
I finished the wrapping this morning before DD got up, and then made a speedy trip for all the bits I forgot or couldn't carry yesterday in Sainsbury.
After coffee, I made the chestnut stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
Just had an after lunch rest, and am about to make the spiced apple (for DD) and mince pies.
Two or three loads of laundry also done.
Back later. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Aw narco I hope they can see that cooking isn't a priority for you at the mo. Hope poorly mum is better soon and that mr n is home ASAP
dusty lovely to hear about "merging" kitties
I've just hit a wall, could quite happily have a nap. Took the kiddies off to the park for an hour just to get out. It worked, they've been very nice to each other ever since. So it's quite peaceful here so far
Gammon, stuffing and red cabbage done. Well, stuffing will need to be cooked. But it's ready to go. We are tidy, spare dining chairs are out and I've brought a tub chair in from conservatory.
Haven't made my bed yet - will get some help. Can't make up the trundle as DD has toys everywhere. We'll do some tidying in a while and sort that out.
I guess my next job is making room in the fridge. I have lots of jars that can go in the conservatory which is probably half a shelf
The Grinch is on now, so hoping the peace will remain...
In case this is my last post for a day or two:
