Bossy I'm reminded of something Mr LW told me; when he and his sisters were young, Ro (4 yrs his junior) was being very naughty just before Xmas, so their Dad said if she carried on, she'd get coal instead of presents. She continued being naughty, so their Dad hid all her presents and gave her a sack of coal on Xmas morning!:rotfl: Apparently she hadn't believed his threat....

PS, she did get her proper presents later.:o

I relented and let him out of bed - I'd forgotten to brush his teeth - then straight back to bed again :o he is all apologies, and has been told he has tomorrow to make it right. Before the elves go back to Father Christmas and tell him which list
He's asked for a chart for tomorrow - aww. Maybe the elves will make him one ;)

I now have me a glass of amaretto and hopefully a peaceful evening. Will go check my list...

This reminds when my sister put out a pair of tights instead of a Santa sock so it was filled with potatoes for being greedy.

Ds2 is now in bed. He is very excited not for Christmas but for going into the city centre on Saturday. It is 4 sleeps apparently.

Presents sorted again. Ground floor henried. Airing cupboard emptied. Towels folded a la Skinty.

Dusty what colour/gender/names are the kittens?

Decided to hit the ground running after the paid stuff so:

    WM
Dry washing put in ironing basket
    Clothes hung up in bedroom
    LR and hallway dusted
    LR, stairs and hallway vacuumed
    Christmas cards put up

Only working until 12 tomorrow (woo-hoo!) so plan to do some flying then.

    Goodnight all

    valli so very sad

Very busy day, like everyone else. Present wrapping straight after breakfast, then dropped Ds2 at work, did last few little bits of shopping, and picked up the boots I ordered in (half price!). Home for coffee, then quick trip to Sainsbury, which was pretty busy, although not queuing out onto main road at least. cards written and delivered, then bit more wrapping.

After that, I retired to the sofa as I was tired!

I think my list tomorrow is manageable, without exhausting me too much. DS1, 2 and DD will help.

    Love, hugs sticks and spoons.

Deco they are both male ginger and white, one is a bit more ginger than the other, no names yet. They are settled in DHs office for the night. Big cats are blissfully unaware of their arrive atm.

Off to bed. plan is to do my wrapping first thing in the morning, take the boys to see Paddington and then prep food for the next day.

Hoping DH and DS1 are in better moods tomorrow, they are quite foul tonight.

    Tonight I have:

Washed the sofa throws and cushion covers. Throws are in airing cupboard.
    Wiped down the sofas
Done a behaviour chart and set up a "North Pole breakfast" from the elves.
    Tidied kitchen, checked gammon
Made up spare room, got more clean bedding out.

    Tomorrow I need to:
Sort stuffing, red cabbage and gammon.
Make space for turkey / veg etc that guests are bringing.
    Make space in coat cupboard.
    CLEAN THE BATH!!!
    S&S downstairs loo.
    Dust and vac downstairs.
Switch furniture round and bring chair in from conservatory
Poss bake? Mince pies? Banana muffins? If I have time (could do Boxing Day)
Get breakfast stuff out to defrost
Change my bed for mum and stepdad and make up trundle for me in DD room.
Smack DS bottie. Only joking :p

Valli so sad and so sorry for the family. Having come so close to losing OH recently I can't imagine how they will get through the next few days/weeks/months.

And lucky lucky me, Mr Narc0 is scheduled to leave hospital on Christmas day, outside chance of it being tomorrow! :j:jStaples came out of wound today, physio signed him off yesterday after he managed stairs.

Mum and I both tired today after a great time at the Albert Hall yesterday, we came back by bus as far as King's Cross so we could see all the lights and Christmas trees. But we managed:
    kitchen fairly tidy
    floor swept and mopped
finalised menu for next couple of days
went to Sainsbo - surprisingly uncrowded - to get last few bits
have mixed ingredients for mince pies
done a table centre flower arrangement which had the added bonus of decluttering several buckets of flowers/foliage and some which was on newspaper in the conservatory where I'd sprayed it silver
changed my bed linen and done a load of washing which dried in the wind
    usual stuff with horse
1 visit and 1 phone call from friends, only a few emails

Unfortunately mum is coming down with a cold and is paranoid about giving it to OH; talking about going home early. When I went to visit him, his nurse has a cold and she said it's all in the air anyway; they aren't meant to take time off work with a cold so not to worry. Really hope mum feels better tomorrow or she will feel guilty as well, and I'll have 2 invalids to look after. BIL arriving tomorrow but staying at their mum's.

If I don't catch up with you all in the next couple of days, have a lovely Christmas everyone and may the germs, black dogs and trials be minimal and the happy memories of missed ones be comforting.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Some of you may remember that some time back I asked for Flylady vibes for my mum's NDN's daughter. She left us today; she was only 29.

Such sadness. So sorry to hear your news.

Usual chores have gone to pot. Dog hairs rule! I managed to vacuum upstairs yesterday and downstairs today. I am falling over men and dogs.

    Tomorrow I must:

wrap the rest of the pressies
    dust/clean up and downstairs.
    Steam clean bathroom
Steam clean kitchen and bathroom floors.

I'll try and get up earlier than the men and do the steam cleaning. Might even get downstairs dust/cleaned before they get up.

Ionafan - soo glad you seem to have had a good day and think it was karma after all the help you have been giving to others. A very well done on all the weight loss as well :D

Kittens have arrived. They seem to be settling, have started purring and one has started rubbing it's head on my face, this was after they had had their first meal here!
Any chance of a picture Dusty, they sound so cute :)

Aww Bossy - it's probably just being overly excited this near to the Big Day but agree that you have to stand firm somewhere and they have to know when they have gone too far. I used to use the 'traffic light' system with mine and even now my DS2 laughs about whether I am approaching 'Red' when I say I'm annoyed about something :rotfl:

Well I'm just about there. Will go to bank in the morning and get last couple of bits and pieces.

Then home and run the duster around the cards and a quick sweep through and wash the kitchen and bathroom floors.

Sending get well and helping vibes to all in need
