    Personal experience with both retailers.

Would rather have a 1 year (as opposed to a 2 year with Sony) warranty with Apple if I had the peace of mind of knowing that Apple were likely to ship me out a new model.

I have seen posts which contradict your personal experience on this board.

And you'll also see parts that agree with him too

Indeed, I did ask what do you suggest to the Op then? You didn't answer I noticed.

You clearly struggle with comprehension or have a basic lack of understanding when it comes to how mobile phones operate. My previous posts in which I've had issue with my mobile phone have been due to signal issues.

The signal is provided by the Network, and not by Apple. Apple is a manufacturer. Give me a shout if you want a clearer run down on this.

Apple kindly replaced my iPhone 5s, after I complained that the battery had deteriorated faster than expected.

I personally would look at the two phones and think the 5c is a much better size. Having said that, a lot of people like bigger screens and the Sony is a superior phone.

So what do you suggest the OP do?
From some of the thread it seems the Apple WILL fail and require some kind of warranty claim
I'm sure that's not the case but that's how it is reading.
After all it is the OP that will be forking out for the next 24 months.
I've had several iPhones and none have failed; I've also got one which a colleague gave me broken and one which I bought with a fault.
    1. iPhone 3GS, new. (WORKING)
    2. iPhone 3GS, a work phone which I "rescued" before they threw it away because the battery bulged and it is pooped. I may do the Apple Store swap option with it.
    3. iPhone 5, mine new, coming up to 2 years on a contract. (WORKING)
    4. iPhone 4 bought off ebay cheap, bodged repair attempt, Sanbei couldn't fix it so I took it to an Apple store and paid £115(?) to swap it for a new one. Passed on to one of my boys. (WORKING)
    5. iPhone 4, given to me by a company who were upgrading. Passed on to one of my boys. (WORKING)
    6. iPhone 5, my work upgraded and offered staff the option of purchasing, so I've got it as a spare. (WORKING)
    7. iPhone 6, current work phone. (WORKING)
So, I've had two bad ones; one bought used with a fault and replaced, and one whose battery went on a wonk.

When my contract is next up for renewal, I may plumb for another iPhone 5 (5S, the 6 is too big for my liking), or I may drop to a SIM-only deal and stick with my current one.

In my case I have loads of IOS apps, so an iPhone is the logical choice.

I have tinkered with Android, but we've had three Samsungs and have had battery/charging issues with them all.

I can't say I would ever buy a Sony phone.

Therefor, my recommendation is the iPhone.

Where is the struggle?, does it state any of that in post #29?
Yes there was a big thing with very short battery life with the iphones, in fact nearly every release has some big issue that makes the normal news headlines.

I can't say I would ever buy an iphone or a Z3 or a samsung for that matter, however it's not about you or I, it's the OP asking about a choice for themself.

Sure, each to their own, but that's my opinion and recommendation.

The Z3 is technically a far more advanced device than the 5C.
