Letter from Car insurance - claim

Odds are that someone noted the reg down incorrectly and you got the blame as they traced the plate (or possible they were cloned) back to you.
If you have evidence you were in hospital obviously you cannot be at fault for a driving accident so just leave it with the insurers once you have made sure they know you were not driving, same as showing there is no damage to your car thus can't have been in an accident.
My insurer will come to inspect my car some day soon..my car is 10 years old, it was previously some small damages done all around car..scratch there scratch there..at the moment my insurer, they do not own any detailed information on this accident..so i really do not understand, why they want to inspect car if they even don't know what to look for?? i been in a local police station once more today..they can't help me with anything unless its fraud or some kind other criminal offense ..but they have to receive such information from my insurer that they suspect that something fishy here..my insurer spoked with third party insurer and that third party insurer, they believe that is it correct reg plate been involved...
Maybe someone have a sample latter which way i can request CCTV footage from hospital..?? This is only one thing which i have in my hand which proofs that my car was standing still in a car park since early morning trough all day and all night..can someone give me some directions here please..? I will go to the end if needed i don't care as i never had any sort off accident..0 -
I doubt the hospital would release the footage to you. Im quite shocked you havent got any additional info on the accident at the very least where it happened, assuming it was 200 miles away your going to be fine, your insurance company just wants to cover itself so dont read more into them wanting to examine your car than that old scratchs should help your case as it shows you havent had any repairs done on the quiet. In your place getting details of where/time this happened would be my main priority. Always remember its down to the claimant to prove you were the other vehicle and as you werent you really dont have to worry0

thank you for your response!
i contacted local police public department regarding CCTV footage. I explained how everything it is in my current situation..Asked to help me retrieving CCTV info. We will see how it goes..It's so F***** up right now..feels that nothing works, running around like headless chicken trying to resolve things out..Lots off phone calls lots off emails..yesterday had to visit doctors as my partner start feeling bad (no doubt to stress)..No information, no nothing..car is in that state in which i both it 6 moths ago..I send a letter to my insurer, requested detailed information about accident and third party as i have right to access this information..i don't care, i will go the end..never had such experience with car insurances..never had accident, i'm driving for 18 years now..i send special delivery letter on additional information..well, at least one good thing out off all this..might be that someone will be reading this tread few years later and it will help people to resolve similar problems...0 -
Rel,
You're making this really difficult for yourself.
I had exactly the same thing happen. I returned the forms having written 'I was not involved in this incident' all over them, and let my Insurer deal with it. Turned out to be a typo on the registration number.
If it's a case of a memory or typing error, then it'll be cleared up in next to no time when the vehicle details don't match the registration.
IF, it's something more sinister then you may need to prove your wereabouts, but there's no need to be running to the Police and shouting 'fraud' just yet.0 -

I'm such man..when something goes wrong i look at all possible worst scenarios as much as possible..i can do anything about it..this is who i'm and this what i do when i go trough life..we live in a sick world, no one can be sure which way something will go regarding any sort off legal issue..and i'm not relay on my insurer 100% that they they will resolve this in best possible way regarding my interest so i just want to cover myself on this 100% now, not later. I can't afford in a future have any sort off issues regarding this claim. Biggest worry is that i want to keep my NCB safe and that i don't want have any sort record on my car insurance file. At the moment i feel that i have to convince my insurer that i never been involved in this accident..so i have to fight off my insurer and third party claim as well...0 -
What happens is down to your insurance, they do often pay claims like this just to cut losses.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

You are wrong..it's not down to my insurance how everything goes..if wrong decision will be made regarding my current situation it will be down to civil court..my insurer knows what my intentions and that all off this not going away that easy no matter what. This is not that case: well..we will pay out, we will take it back from "me" and that's it, problem solved.
Biggest problem regarding similar problems, people don't stand up against it if it's wrong..mots people let them be pushed around and most people pay rising insurance premiums and loosing NCB. This is not that case. I have tools, i have money to proceed to court..i don't care anymore as i'm not involved in this accident. Everyone should stand up in such cases..that's why we drivers are - is such current situation with car insurers..they do what ever they want to do because most off people..they just let it go...because they don't know how to defend themselves..or simple they don't have spare penny to proceed all concerns to civil court. For me it doesn't matter if i will have to go to court on my behalf..very possible that court expenses will be paid by other part (as i never been involved in this car accident) if not, in along run i will win anyway as i wont by paying lost premiums and lost no claim bonuses..that's why i dig so deep where i can, this is evidence that i'm done everything what i could collecting evidence and looking for help or assistance in all of kinds institutions. If be honest i ready myself - for a civil court.
Mots off people, eating chicken and chips they ignore letter's and they don care, because they never been involved in anything..after sometime, turns out that - i have to pay more..but it's to late to do something about it..and they pay.0 -
Its good that if you need to your prepared to go a long way to defend yourself its just that your really not at that stage yet, imagine if they come back and say the accident wss with a green car in london but say you have a red car and live in glasgow just tell them and problem solved call the other company tomorrow and ask them where and when, that will be much quicker than getting your insurance company to ask them then tell you, sooner you sort it the quicker you can go back to normal0

It wont go away that easy no matter what..i will get answers from my insurer, where was a problem and who's this is fault is.
Then i will proceed to civil court as it causing me problems, causing stress to my family and causing time and some money dealing with it..
it wont be enough, sorry this is was reg plate misread..everyone have to take responsibility for actions made.
Let's say for example - you received speeding ticking or parking ticket..nothing major. You go to court and you will say - judge, i'm really sorry this is misunderstanding this is mistake i don't know how did it happened this is accident, mistake..you think they will let you off without penalty? i don't think so.
If someone can't read reg number properly they have to buy glasses and they have to make sure that is is correct reg number written down and all information from ID. If there isn't enough information, call the f***** police and ask them to assist you in this accident. Or even better quit driving because i don't know how someone can drive car ir someone can't even read f***** registration right..
If it's admin typing error, change a job then because you can function properly. This is my position for today.
One possible way how it can go away for all of us..if third party will able to prove that it was cloned reg plate somehow.
How i imagine: car accident..take a look into your policy, find phone number, phone your insurer straight away, ask them to double check reg number if it's matches to provided ID if insurer can't help dial 112 and ask to assist you..so simple..less problems easy resolved problem. Too many dicks on a roads which don't have a clue how and what to do on a roads and how to deal with issues...they drive they make mistakes and other people have to suffer..F*** that.0 -

Of course an insurer can choose to pay off a claimant in these circumstances but FOS would normally take the view that if it then disadvantages the policyholder over a non-existent claim this would be a breach of Principles 6 and 8.Rel,

Absolutely.
The OP says he intends to go to court but a court will then ask if he has acted reasonably and he risks it concluding that he has overreacted to an innocent mistake.
It might through the case out. Or it might make an award of as little as a penny - far less than the case cost the OP to bring.0
