That would do.
Other options would be to (a) ignore, or (b) reply to Covea by denying liability on the grounds that there was no accident. But if the OP doesn't cough up, Covea will then contact the OP's insurer anyway. So OP might as well let them know anyway.0 -
You are contractually obliged to inform your insurer of any claims anyway, so the value of this claim is unknown I would play very safe indeed.
If you dont, you may find your insurance terminated with 7 days notice.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I send an email yesterday to my insurer with all details whats going on, we will see what they will respond with. I contacted covea as well via email regarding this issue. My alibi is super strong, there is all records of hospital that we had baby on 6th and i spend all full day there and all full night as well. I think this is not me who has to prove that i'm not guilty, this is third party to prove otherwise. Well i got all plan set, will involve police regarding cctv, i been living in a hospital since 5th till 11th afternoon..occasionally leaving hospital to take a shower in my house..trip from hospital to home 2-3miles i believe..
Regarding court ready- all work, there is people which makes living out of such cases so i think they will be very interested in very easy case.0 -
Let's say insurance company will admit that it is administration error. I think it won't be enough, can i claim due to stress ect..because it causing a lot of stress at the moment..someone has to take responsibility for actions taken against me for no reason at all..?
Why does everybody see compo in anything that goes a bit awry?
Stop beating yourself up and seeing problems which are not there.
It is almost certainly a case of mistaken identity - probably simply one digit on the registration number typed in wrongly and the computer did the rest.
You could ask the hospital to check its CCTV but in any case it will have full records of when the mother arrived etc.
However, with regard to compo, you will need to show not only that you got really stressed out but that they should have realised it was reasonable to suppose that you would get really stressed out.
If the high level of stress was really because of your "happy event" and this was simply the straw that broke the camel's back, that would not be sufficient as they would not have known that they were writing to an expectant Dad.0 -
I contacted Lawyers office. Explained everything in all details as much as possible. I will have all answers to all possible scenarios in this case so i will know where i'm.
Why i have to stress out? Let someone else stress out for making such mistakes if it's mistakes..If it's something else - criminals should be in jail.0 -
Perhaps you should follow the example of your little one and get a life.0

Maybe you right. I won't argue on this one. I want to play safe in this case i won't take any chances. I want to put everything where it belongs..there is plenty stories on internet when looks that everything sorted, claim dropped till insurance expires..Like i said i better to deal with it all the way to 100% now not later and then maybe i will get a life0 -
there is some updates on this claim. They contacted my insurer already, my insurer doesn't have any details on this imaginable accident..So my questions is: how claim can be active if there isn't any details apart of my registration?
Can it be that someone from insurance trying to pull this off on my behalf? Let's say he has outsider which claiming they pay to him, i loose my NCB..is it good enough as conspiracy theory? Because i really don't understand..i never had such experience with car accidents claims but i think when claiming you have to fill detailed information in your claim??0 -
Odds are that someone noted the reg down incorrectly and you got the blame as they traced the plate (or possible they were cloned) back to you.
If you have evidence you were in hospital obviously you cannot be at fault for a driving accident so just leave it with the insurers once you have made sure they know you were not driving, same as showing there is no damage to your car thus can't have been in an accident.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
