You could use them to make Christmas decorations - where you slice them and dry them in the oven. You can then add them to garlands or pot pourri

You could make some Microwave orange curd, just swap the lemons with oranges!

    3oz butter
    8oz sugar
    3 eggs
finely grated rind & juice of 2 lemons

Melt the butter in a 2 pint bowl on high for about 1 1/2 minutes. Beat together the sugar, eggs, lemon rind & juice then stir into the melted butter, mixing well. Cook on high for about 3 mins or until the mixture coats the back of a spoon (Stir briskly every 30 seconds as the mixture starts to thicken to keep it smooth). Pour into small warmed jars, cover and keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 1lb.

The garlands thing could be good because I have some cinamon sticks.
Has anyone made them before? How long and at what temp do I cook the slices, (electric oven) how thick should they be? Yep I am clueless, I'll do a google if no-ones sure but tried and tested methods would be better.

Or you could peel them and then chop into cubes - soak in amaretto (or similar) and then layer in a pyrex bowl - one layer orange, one crushed amaretto bisquit till nearly full and put a layer of whipped cream on top :) serve :D

    It's deeeeeelish

    Hi jellyang,

We have an older thread on using oranges that should give you some ideas so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the ideas together.

The marmalade thread might help too: Marmalade
