Grate the zest off and freeze for those pesky recipes that want zest.

Funny you should say that. The pub near our church is having a July Christmas bash... May we should have a July Christingle?

Stud them with cloves and dry them - pomanders

  • Orange curd or an orange tart.

rather impartial to a decent tart myself. Plenty of custard to go with it as well. The rest, orange juice, frozen. Mixes well with cheap lemonade.

Slice thinly and dry out in a warm oven and add to pot pourri or pop some ribbon thru for rustic xmas tree decs - they look great

Stud with cloves and dry in airing cupboard - the scent will be beautiful at Christmas still, and several Christmases in the future too!

peel a small piece and add to your bath - lovely scented orange oil - Don't use too much! It is surprisingly potent and too much can irritate skin.

Cut in half, scoop out the middle and fill with compost (or just wet kitchen paper) and cress seeds - looks wicked and cress can go in your salads!
