I was claiming JSA because I've paid into the system. So I'm LEGALLY entitled to it - "but nit morally" I hear you cry!
I keep my savings at the bank of mum and dad yes!

You were? So you've found a job? Congrats.

Did the job centre know about these 'savings'?

Tenants are legally entitled to their rights by the way...

Though your tenants aren't entitled to claim JSA according to your earlier post...

I think you might've just crept into the old ignore list.

But one last question - what speciality are you going for? I am secretly hoping you say housing law.

    overstaying guests - morally squatters
    unwanted tenants - morally squatters

Just found out you've been a land lord for 6 months ( hardly experienced ) and you've made a loss this far ( hardly a sound business model )

Cant tell you my speciality in Scotland as it's a bit niche.

I don't think being unemployed is very 'niche' but if you say so

Erm nearly 2yrs. only made a loss at beginning. accidental ll anyway.

Did you accidentally phone the letting agent, accidentally find a tenant and accidentally sign a tenancy agreement?

Presumably also accidentally have gas checks? And accidentally registered with the council as a landlord?

That's a lot of accidents. Perhaps you should contact a solicitor...

OP I hope everything gets sorted out and you find more secure accommodation. I wish jobs in this country paid a living wage so that people could afford to live on their income without recourse to social security and in-work benefits! Can't see that happening anytime soon though.

Having said that, I'm glad I'm not a landlord letting a property to everyone advising you to screw over the landlord. He sounds like he's generally been decent but a bit misguided, which is a lot better than some of the sharks out there!
