  • Morning everyone

Big announcement - there is nothing in the laundry basket in the bathroom except 1 odd sock! 2 piles of ironing are sitting on the kitchen table waiting to go away when everyone is up. Both airers are full of dry washing to sort and there are various bits on the radiators. I will never get this behind with the washing again.

I am almost too organised. Tesco shopping coming this afternoon. One or two more presents to wrap and a little bit of tidying up to do.

Oh and lke Bossy I need to just cut back a little on the snacking now there is lots of unhealthy stuff in the house! I am not going to be a food bore but I need to regain a little willpower.

    Morning all :xmassmile

In the concert interval yesterday evening DH bought me a cup of coffee, which I drank gratefully - singing is thirsty work! However, I have regretted it ever since as it was what in our house we call "full-fat", i.e. with caffeine. Didn't get to sleep until about 2.30 and woke up again at 6.00, whereas I normally need at least 6 hours' sleep. Oh well, I expect I shall crash out this afternoon.

But I have made good use of my time so far this morning:
    - sewn a ribbon loop on the back of my dressing gown so that it doesn't keep slipping off the hook on the door
    - found some material to hide the Christmas tree stand
    - hung baubles in the LR and stars in the kitchen
    - decorated the candle stand on the mantlepiece
    - tidied the LR
    - sorted out a piece of work in my head, now need to commit brief notes to paper before I forget it all again
    - drunk two cups of decaff tea
    - showered and dressed, ready to face the rest of the day :)

Hope those marking the winter solstice today enjoy their celebrations

I am still trying to wrap all the Christmas presents.... Perhaps this will be the day when I actually get it done!

Morning all. Managed a good tidy up yesterday, took 2 carrier bags of tat out of the playroom, surreptitiously like ;) as well as filling the airers with clean washing.

Shopping came...... I think I must have been on crack or something when I ordered it......3 boxes of mince pies, 2 kilos of grapes 2kilos of parsnips..??????????........
Some weird duplications came too...... I GOT 2 TURKEY JOINTS!!!!!!:j:j:j:j 1kg stuffed crowns they were charging £30 for ;). Had a bit of an ethical dilemma, but they couldn't reuse them as they'd been in my house so there would be no cold chain assurance to sell one to another customer, so in the freezer it goes :rotfl:

Glad to see you back skinty, hope Christmas passes peacefully for you all.

Happy solstice everyone! Enjoy the shortest day :)

Also, just to add my favourite nonalcoholic drink while out is a cranberry juice and soda with ice. Lovely and refreshing, and makes it quite a tall drink so you're not getting through it too quickly so keeps the acid load down ;)

JulieJim - oh I've done that several times with CC. If you ring them they will often waive the £12 fee - use saynoto0870 to find a cheaper/free number!

Hello again. I am clean! Have just had a lovely soak in the bath using DD's s@nctuary spa products that she left behind and doesn't seem to want any more. Her loss, my gain.

Weighed myself, have lost 5lbs in the last week so maybe I can allow myself some more pr1ngles later.

Righty, I'm going to get dressed, hoover through the house and walk the lovely dogs.

    Enjoy today LW.

Took OH's ticket back and got a refund - going to "beamed in" ballet the Nutcracker tomorrow afternoon with both mums and mil's friend at local cinema.

Me too - looking forward to it. I was once lucky enough to see The Bolshoi live at the Albert Hall and the show was amazing :D

So pleased to hear how well OH is doing - hoping and praying he can be home for Christmas xx

    Plan for today:

    - take some stuff round to Dad's
    - phone car insurance to change to new-to-me car I'm getting tomorrow :T
    - go to cinema (see above!!)
    - go to a different 'Spoons for Christmas dinner with Mum!

Have a good day all xx

Yesterday I had a lazy lonely day, just me and the dog. DH was at the rugby then out with the lads after, DS staying at GFs as they had said they do not see as much of him as we do her.

Had a lovely long walk round the local lake and then down by the canal with the dog, met a lovely lady who was just visiting the area and had a nice ramble.

So far this morning hoovered all downstairs, wrapped some missed presents, taken his Lordship a cuppa in bed, now going to cook up some YS minced steak three lots of 500gr for £1 each :money:, thinking cottage pie, lasagne and chilli for the freezer for lazy days after New Year.

Happy Winter Solstice to LW and OH

    Best wishes to all others.
    Gilly x
