City of London Mile 2016, done, bling collected, face sunburned, and now home with my feet up.

Amazing how tiring running a mile can be! Slightly disappointed to run it over a minute slower than last years mile but then if I'd been training, it would have been much more likely I'd have got there.

Next week Tough Mudder, then I've a week to recover and then its my first Tri of the year. So this week I need to be doing lots of training, hopefully I'll recover from TM fairly quickly so I can then concentrate on brick workouts and head up to the lake a couple of times before the tri. After which I'll be utterly annoyed at myself for doing so little training, and promise I'll work harder before the Sept tri......and repeat the disappointment in myself.

Cycled home from work, that was painful.

The first 0.5 mile includes a 0.3 mile 8.8% incline - walked most of it.

Been told we might have a weekend off work I wasn't expecting so am thinking about heading home to see my parents and will do a swim event while I'm there.

Home from Tough Mudder weekend. I have some seriously impressive colours in my bruises and some bruises in places I never expected to find a bruise! But unlike my two team mates I haven't felt too stiff or sore other than my shoulders.

I did however find the event was not exactly fun but I'd definitely do another one......

    Car insurance sorted out.

While I was in Scotland they were selling a bike rack in Mr T, I'm planning to pop out tomorrow to see if they have one in either of the local stores as it was much cheaper than the ones I've been looking at online and apparently fits almost any car - I figure it's worth a try.

Also debating entering the Great Manchester swim this weekend, but I'll have to drive north from the swim event in Reading I'm doing Friday evening after work.

Decided to enter the Great Manchester, and have paid for next years Scottish TM (should be able to transfer the registration if I can't make on those dates or can't find a team mate or two!).

Have been out looking for bike racks and neither of my local Tesco had them in stock so have ordered the Halfords one to collect this afternoon.

I've discovered that two survey sites I use work better on my tablet at work than they do on my laptop at home (the tablet might work at home too but not tried yet). Which has resulted in my cashing out a £10 amazon voucher and £3 to paypal from surveys I've done during down time at work over the last couple of days.

Am also creeping towards £20 on prolific academic so I can cash out without fees.

    2 swim events done.

Friday night 1500m in 40 mins.
Great Manchester 1600m(1mile) in 44 mins.

I'm exhausted. The drive north after the night swim felt like it took forever. Having to be up and out the house this morning by 11am was painful given it was almost 4am when I got to bed this morning.

Must have been tired last night - woke up mid morning with my light and TV still on and half a glass of wine on my bedside table.

This morning I've finished the book I brought with me and as its a signed goodreads win it has found itself a home on my bookcase at Dad's, I've also scanned about 20 books looking for any that I can send off to ziffit, only found one they'll take at the moment but it's a start (it's also a hardback so a very fair one in one out for my bookcase!).

As I also still have a ridiculous amount of stuff here I've also binned three fairly bulky items and taken an armload of magazines down to the recycling bin - I would have taken more but it's nearly full and I think it's not collected until next week. But slow progress is still progress.

Need to drive home this afternoon after a visit to my Nana. So starting to get my repacking done.

Pushing yourself a little too hard then.

That's what I tell myself too - though I bet your slow progress is faster than my slow progress.

You take care - long drives when you're tired are a problem.

Possibly or just that I was in bed watching a film and fell asleep during it. Although I won't deny I was tired! Two open water swims a 200 mile drive in under 24 hours will do that to anyone I suspect.

Not so sure, this is my Dad's house, I only visit a couple of times a year - and I'm pretty sure the things I brought from Dad's back to my flat don't count as decluttering just rearranging the clutter :D

The drive back was fine, a few traffic slow spots but nothing excessive. Just chucked a pizza in the oven and sorted out the recycling to go out later on.

Need to print some docs and check train times for a couple of S.E jobs tomorrow before work - it'll be a relatively early start as I have a 20 min train trip to one town, 40 mins back down the line to the next town before coming home again - wondering if I can get away with a return ticket for the total trip or will have to get returns from my 'start' point out to each town separately.
