It's a wierd thing isnt it, the amount of stuff that's kept for a point in the future yet when you get there you end up wondering why.

I know why I have half my stuff: They're books.

After that it's: "It might come in handy."

Another part is ornaments and stuff like that. Otherwise I'd have houses which are very spartan and functional.

Last but not least, it's clothes. But at least those are going down. Last week I found a coat I used to wear to school. It still fits, but the elastic has gone...

Can't argue with any of the categories of stuff. The main difference is my clothes range from size 18 to size 10, and any school stuff definitely wouldnt fit me these days!

Because of my shape, I don't really alter in size all that much except for trousers - and since I'm so hard on them, they're never more than a few months old.

Having said that, I may need to go shopping for a new belt or two. I'm able to get my trousers off without even loosening the belt - and that's an accident waiting to happen...

    We didn't wear a tie.

Meh can I say I dislike you quite intensely right now. I'd love to be of relatively unaltering shape, but I'm not and it sucks. I'm also not enjoying the feeling of my clothes being too big at the moment, much the opposite they feel far too small which means I need to dredge up my self control and will power and stop eating so much cake at work!

It's not a flattering unaltering shape - and that sucks too.

Yes, free food is a real trial when it comes to not over-consuming. One of the guys at work brought in stuff for his birthday this week. I may have hit the flapjack jackpot a little too often that day... :rotfl:

Girls didn't have to wear a tie unless we wanted to wear trousers. The horror of learning to tie one meant I took the skirt and blouse option my entire school life.

I've spent most of my life being 'lovingly' referred to as a whale by most of my friends and family, unflattering shape I know all about, it just changes dimensions fairly regularly.

Yup the fact that we feed guests a dessert at every meal means there is often desserts left over - Friday's was a lush Salted Caramel Cookie Dough Crunch cake, rejected by many of the guests as they thought it was Banoffee Pie therefore healthy food.

It's not that bad! It's like tying shoelaces, once you know, you know. However, I don't do the posh symmetrical knot. The tie gets done at all speed, and I certainly don't faff around.

One of the lads once came in with his tie done like a hangman's noose. That was rather more amusing than it should have been...

The girls at my school had to learn to tie a tie AND wear blouse and skirt - no option. It was only towards the end of their school career that they were allowed to wear tights (as opposed to socks) and only then, when there was snow on the ground.

They build them hard up here... ;)

They need a good slap for that. I've seen the other side of that coin, and it's not good. Pretty disturbing in fact - for me at least.

Now it's not often you see "Pie" and "healthy food" in the same sentence. It's a shame I don't like bananas, otherwise I could quite fancy a health kick.

Do Frey Bentos count in the same way? :D

First thing in the morning I can barely do up buttons, tying a tie properly would have been so far beyond me that it wasn't worth the effort - esp as it had to be tied a specific way. Tights were banned full stop, although once we were in 5th year we were allowed to swop the green cardigan for a black jumper.

Nope Frey Bentos only just counts as food! I wouldn't call Banoffee healthy but given that the group we had in last week are notorious for their dessert consumption rate that there was so much left was a surprise to everyone.

Back in the south again, feel like I spent most of the drive wondering which cereal packet other drivers got their licences out of - who knew that Mercs and BMW's needed to travel in convoy in lane 2 of a 4 lane section of motorway going up hill at 55mph (ish) so despite lane 1 being clear other than a Ford KA struggling up said hill at 60mph while looking for a gap in the convoy to move out and overtake them legally.....I wouldn't mind so much but I'd been in lane 1 for a good 2 miles catching up to them before the hill then the one in front of me pulled out of the otherwise clear lane to join the back of the convoy at the bottom of the hill then slowed down leaving me no space to go around the lot of them.

I find the inability to drive starts slightly north of Northampton. YMMV as they say.

Well there you go - the answer was in the question.

    In this particular instance:

Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.

The lane to your right was congested, therefore you could overtake on the left. Though seemingly only at "similar speeds".

    So no 120mph undertaking... ;)

Though to be fair, once you start passing them, they usually get in pretty sharpish. Sometimes a bit too sharpish, so keep your eyes peeled.

I knew I wasn't in the wrong with my choosing to keep going in my lane - my poor little car couldn't have coped with slowing down to go around the back of them and then be expected to pick up speed again afterwards so no chance of 120mph undertaking (I suspect the KA couldn't safely reach that speed going down hill with a following wind anyway). Nope there was no sign of them pulling in to lane 1 for over a mile after the top of the hill.....since that's when I finally pulled out in to lane 2 to overtake a lorry and they were still there when I was checking my mirrors to pull back in to lane 1. It was just odd, I expected them to get to the top of the hill and race off as people often do when they get to the top of a hill and back on to the flat.
