You've done rather better than me. I seem to have caught the lurgy from somewhere, so have done a lot of nothing today.scubaangel wrote: »Trying to work out the cost of posting a standard size DVD so I can get back in to the habit of ebaying the ones I don't want/need/were the ex's.
The more you declutter, the less stuff you need to take with you when you settle down...:rotfl:

Why so many bad words?
More stuff decluttered, two old bottles of talc, 10 old diving mags. Plus two more tea bags (I'm sure Dad loves having me home).
Also decluttered three swimming caps and an old pedometer. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

You rotate his stock of teabags. What's there not to love?scubaangel wrote: »Also decluttered three swimming caps and an old pedometer.

It's slow progress, and I'm ignoring the books he want's me to be clearing out so I can get back down to three bookcases in my room.
But progress is progress.
Now to more important things do I take the shot glass collection back down south with me?

Do you have a long-term plan for them?scubaangel wrote: »But progress is progress.
It is indeed.scubaangel wrote: »Now to more important things do I take the shot glass collection back down south with me?
Would you use it? Did you miss it?scubaangel wrote: »ETA Another 30 magazines in the recycling bin.

I have no plan at all for the books really, I know there are some which I want to take with me that I'll reread but until I have the bookcase sorted out in the house I don't want to take them. The ones I'm less keen on keeping are going to have to go somehow but how and when is unknown.
I used to use it, but living with my father meant drinking shots became much less common hence they're boxed up in my bedroom.
Most of these ones are actually from 2007.....It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Are they already separated into those two groups?scubaangel wrote: »I used to use it, but living with my father meant drinking shots became much less common hence they're boxed up in my bedroom.
Has the social life revived sufficiently so they'd get used?scubaangel wrote: »Most of these ones are actually from 2007.....
That's far better. That's almost this decade...
Though having said that, I have stuff from the '80s - a retirement planning book among them. Given the difference between now and then, what it suggests is borderline hysterical... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Nope, and does drinking alone not count?
The dive mags I tended to keep so as they were good for trip planning when I was working at the dive centre. Thats quite some time ago now so getting rid of them is something I just hadn't got around to. Dad's paper recycling bin is full now though so the mags left will have to stay on the shelf until my next visit. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

You don't need shot glasses for that...
Take them - so long as you invite people round to christen them.

Yep, I know that sort of thing. I have quite a lot of stuff that I am keeping "for when I get a house", and which I've hauled around for a long time now. I'll probably just end up chucking them... :rotfl:scubaangel wrote: »Dad's paper recycling bin is full now though so the mags left will have to stay on the shelf until my next visit.
You could always just leave them in a bag ready for when the bin is emptied. I'm sure your Dad is capable of chucking them in without supervision..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

If I'm inviting them in to my home then they're well aware that they'll leave plastered........
It's a wierd thing isnt it, the amount of stuff that's kept for a point in the future yet when you get there you end up wondering why. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
