Nope there was no sign of them pulling in to lane 1 for over a mile after the top of the hill.....since that's when I finally pulled out in to lane 2 to overtake a lorry and they were still there when I was checking my mirrors to pull back in to lane 1. It was just odd,

It sounds it. Perhaps they were on their way back home to Stepford...

I expected them to get to the top of the hill and race off as people often do when they get to the top of a hill and back on to the flat.

That's people with underpowered cars. Evel Kineval coming down the hill, and Driving Miss Daisy going up... :rotfl:

    Busy few days at work.

Did some shopping the other day, most of it was store cupboard stuff which was on cashback sites so from a £5.20 spend I got £4.70 cashback.

I may have also done something stupid at work today http://humanrace.co.uk/events/womenonly/womenonly-triathlon/

Now looking to buy a second hand road/hybrid bike to train on.

Went for a run after work 2.4 miles, 29 minutes - well that time needs to come down some.

Also went bowling with my canadian friend and my work friend. Nice evening but I feel quite lonely now I'm home alone again, def time to start getting out and involved with things again.

It will, but most important thing is getting out there - not 4 minute miles. (Music by Vangellis notwithstanding)

It is - and the lighter evenings will start to help that.

You got plans apart from Triathlon training?

True, I've no major worries about the swim, the transition between swim and cycle could be interesting - I need to lose about half a stone before my swimming wetsuit fits comfortably again (flippin work and all the free cakes!), and I've always struggled to get in and out of wetsuits.

I know I can do the cycle (albeit it sounds terrifying at 21km) but I rode my falling apart mountain bike 8 miles on rough paths in under an hour so on a safe and complete bike on the flat course it ought to be not too tough.

    And I know I can run 5km.

The big issue is doing them all together on the same day.....at the moment I can only find open water swim centres locally open from 6-8am in the summer months, but once I have a bike I can try to use it to get to the pool and ride home again, and when I'm getting more in to the training will have to take myself off for a short run.

A friend who did a tri a couple of years ago said the hardest transition physically for her was bike to run so I want to make sure I practise that.

You'll just have to think of the latest boy-band waiting for you dressed in nothing but tight shorts. That'll get you out of it quick.

    Or you'll fall over laughing - that's a risk...

Sounds a lot kinder than 21 miles..

That'd have me fighting to keep the suit on! And probably trying to put other peoples suits on just to make sure.

Muscle groups, cycling and running use the same muscles in totally different ways so after putting effort in to the cycling it's harder to change the motion for the run apparently. No idea if theres any science behind that but it sounds plausible.

Did my local parkrun this morning it was cold, and muddy. But I did the 5km in 36 minutes which I'm reasonably happy with for now.

Just managed to hit the cash out level on Perk so have requested £10 paypal.

Also had an email letting me know that my shopitize cash out has landed in my paypal account. Will withdraw the cash that's in there when the Perk money arrives.

There doesn't really need to be science behind it - if she has a problem with it, she has a problem with it.

Could have been worse - could have been cold and snowy.

You should be happy with it, considering you're still coming out from hibernation at the moment.

I have to come out of hibernation? Oh man....such cruelty. :p

Arranging to go look at a bike in the next couple of days its cheap so if I buy it and decide I don't like it I can sell it on easily enough.

Once I have it I think it's light enough in the mornings when I start work at 9am and when I finish at 5pm to risk riding in good weather, just need to get a decent cycle helmet and some lights and a couple of locks - one I'll leave in the shed at work and another for home once I find a space on the bike rack in the carpark.
