  • Hi all
Posting my final total for Jan - £141.42 - £41.42 over my target but in my defence I wouldn't have shopped till Feb but I had the a**i voucher that expired today and I spent £42.23 and a lot was for stock. So in essence I came in under budget!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully in Feb I'll come in way under budget - we can hope.
Thanks to all who encorage us and gives so many useful tips.
    See you all in Feb

I'm really chuffed with my January challenge - been keeping track on a spreadsheet and diary. I overspent this week by £3, but I've had two weeks out of the month where I've been well under budget, so this wasn't a problem. Having checked the amounts I'd logged, it seems that I've saved more than I thought.

Total January Grocery Spend was £146.98/£200, (weekly average=£36.75/£50.00) saving £53.02... Ready for February challenge now, starting on Feb budget on Friday. Seeing if I can beat Jan, by setting budget at £45 per week, £180 for month (4weeks)
    Feb 2015 - £34.43/£180
    Jan 2015 £146.98/£200

I will use my money more wisely!

    Hiya everyone

    Managed another NSD.

We had Hungarian goulash today (first time I've made it), with creamed potatoes and steamed veggies - it was LUSH :D I have already frozen half of it and the lo will be the base for shredded beef, tomato and bean soup for the freezer as well :j

Having egg and prawn salad, followed by HM potato, leek and chicken soup tomorrow. Saturday is going to be salmon (freezer), asparagus and bubble + squeak patties with hollandaise sauce.

I've just opened a full 2 litres of milk and I've plenty of bread in the freezer and fruit/yogurt in the fridge.

So I think that's my spending done for the month, but best not declare in case I've missed something :rotfl:

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday

Another £21 spend here and there, was given a bag of Seville oranges so I needed sugar and lemon for marmalade making, then DS and I went to another shop and he wanted a couple of bits and pieces and I enede up stocking a bit more.

Also £10 spend on lunch with DH in a cafe but not counted in GC as it was a much needed time together, out of the house as the builder is banging on the wall to knock plaster off and it was maddening. It was a medicinal outing!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Declaring today at £498.70, nearly £100 over my target but I am still happy as it is a lot less than I would spend normally. I have used up most of one freezer but I still have lots in my chest freezer so that will be my target for February. This month has felt like it has gone on for ever.

Declaring January over with a spend of £101.15.

    Not bad at all.

Just placed my Feb online order to be delivered wed. Off to the feb challenge to post.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
