Small debt payment update! Random amount as it rounded my total debt still owing figure down

#057: £302.00 / £8202.00 3.7% :rotfl:
Very little spare money this month but really want to be able to pay off extra - there's a couple of bits I could do with sticking on eb@y if I get around to it but at least I've not spent much this week - the only thing I've bought is a t-shirt from a daily site for DH that will be his valentines present :grinheart - not too bad for £10.08 - can't forget the 8p!
The staying away from shopping websites is going well so far! Only nipping online to check my bank and catch up here - need to keep that up long term :cool:0 -

You do an awesome job of keeping up to date with us all posting :T
Cheers
I'll get your total updated now.rubywhatashmoo wrote: »Small debt payment update! Random amount as it rounded my total debt still owing figure down

I keep putting off my eBaying, thinking that it's still in its oversaturated post-Christmas state! I've got some snowboarding boots and a snowboarding coat which I need to get rid of, and it's the season for it I suppose.
I just bought some Slazenger gym clothes from Sports Direct at around 80% off... three t shirts, two pairs of shorts, 5 pairs of socks for £16.97, can't really go wrong at that price! First clothes I've bought in yonks, but it's for a good cause.0 -
I think in my mind I always make out listing things on ebay to be some big chore as well - which it sort of was about 6 years ago before smartphones and app and things nowadays it takes about 5 minutes (how old do I sound?!?)
Love Sports Direct! I have to send my other half down regularly for new trainers as he seems to destroy his every 3 weeks or so (seriously what the hell does he do with them?!) But for less than 20 quid he can get some branded ones and I don't pay for them so it's fine!

Trainers are the one bit of sports kit I spend money on, I've had injuries in the past and they make a big difference for me. I always forget Sports Direct does outdoor gear - bottles, compasses, camping gear etc., and it's a bargain in there too. Great shop.0 -
108 here.
More payments today. Have now paid £1493.38/£9139.48.
I've set up automatic payments so a little bit gets paid every day. Very satisfying to see it get whittled down!0 -
Just transferred £15.25 from various survey sites and SB to my bank account so I can work out which to allocate it to.
I'm tempted to go for the lowest balance credit card as I think that'll give me a good psychological boost an encourage me to try and push to get the 2nd one disposed of before the end of Feb, but I'm worried that because of going on holiday in March I'm going to end up clearing debt only to add to it again whilst on holiday. Disaster has struck. Car had a mega fail on the mot yesterday, £850 repairs and classed as dangerous. It's only worth £1500. As I desperately need a 'safe' 7th seater for my brood, I've px it for a Zafira on finance. Cost £4695 but got £1500 for me and he chucked in 2 years free warranty so at least it's a safe bet for 2nd year's. Sadly, it's another monthly bill I'll struggle with but needs must.#171

I received money for my birthday recently, which normally I would splurge out on myself with a shopping spree - perhaps one big reason why I'm in this situation in the first place!
Banked it and paid some of my debt. Feeling positive :j

Oh No, Ali bf! I've been there with the panic of a car failing its MOT and costing too much to make it worth fixing. It's not a good feeling

We have five kids, one of uses a wheelchair, so we needed space for seven plus chair - with most MPVs it is seven people or five plus luggage, so it was a really difficult trying to find something suitable. My son is older now and has to travel in his chair so we now have a wheelchair accessible vehicle, but I still remember the tearful panic of having to cope without a car! Pleased for you that you managed to sort something out without too much bother.Jan NSD 4/15

People always say to pay off the highest interest card first, which strictly speaking is the cheapest way of doing it. However, I think that hugely underplays the psychological effect of paying off the smaller individual debts. The panic is often caused by having multiple debts, hence the popularity of debt consolidation, so clearing smaller accounts will have benefits in the long term by reducing the risk of you derailing early on.
So do what feels best!Disaster has struck. Car had a mega fail on the mot yesterday, £850 repairs and classed as dangerous. It's only worth £1500. Oh no! We had a similar issue with SWMBO's car a little while ago, and it's amazing how stressful it is when it happens. In hindsight, it was just a minor hiccup but it felt like the end of the world at the time. Ended up getting a great deal on a VW Up!, which is a fantastic little car (obviously we don't need 7 seats :rotfl:). It's so cheap to run, and has a maintenance package and warranty for three years, so no costs other than fuel and tyres (we hope!).freightexec2009 wrote: »I received money for my birthday recently, which normally I would splurge out on myself with a shopping spree - perhaps one big reason why I'm in this situation in the first place!
