Unfortunately I had some really bad news today so please just give your loved ones an extra cuddle and if you have a dream that you keep saying you'll do but never get around to it, then just do it. Now. Don't wait. Life really is too short so don't waste it working or doing stuff you don't enjoy

Oh no, really sorry to hear that! Very poignant, and you've hit the nail on the head - life is short, we sometimes don't realise that. I hope you're ok, obviously you'll get as much support on here as we can offer.:grouphug:0 -
Hey peeps
I'm having a bad day and just needed somewhere safe to pour my woes out. If anyone will understand it's you guys, some of you are probably feeling exactly the same way I am this morning.
Firstly I know it's self inflicted and our fault. We are still 'fighting fires' in our new house with lots of expensive problems to fix, however I am incredibly grateful to have this house. It's just that all the problems haven't help with the finances. We've had money to cover most things but at the cost of not being able to pay off more debt. And I know we are going on the worlds most expensive holiday  (okay slight exaggeration), and that has put a lot of pressure on, which we knew when we decided to book it, but it will be worth it.
I don't expect sympathy from 'the real world' but I'd sure appreciate a, we've been there, you will get through it from you guys.
I feel like I'm a pressure cooker and if one more thing goes wrong it's all going to explode in a horrible mess! I'm just trying to keep on top of things and be proactive in the hope that I can try to improve things, even if it's only marginally.
I guess I'm having a 'what a loser', 'how have you ended up like this again' kind of day.:wall: I swear once this year is over, I am going to spend the next few years busting my debt and I am not going to let anyone convince me to put anything on a credit card again....I just need to get through this expensive year.
Hey Mossy, chin upWe're here to offer support, sympathy, and perhaps more importantly, understanding... there's a reason we're all on this thread together! There will be bad days and good days on this little journey, but as long as you keep focussed on the eventual goal, we'll all get there, and life will feel a lot brighter and more sorted. Stay with us, don't disappear however the year might go :T

Of course you're not too late, I joined the 2014 thread in November! :rotfl: Number assigned :THi All.
Mossy - I think we all have times when we feel like that, but you're here and you're keeping on top of your finances so try not to fret too much!
Well done to everyone who has made payments! :j
Do you think you have all had your LBM? I'm not convinced I have entirely but I think I'm drawing closer. Last night OH and I had a babysitter, first time since September! So went out on a well needed 'date night' - to the bill of nearly £70! Ouch. Had budgeted for it (OK, maybe £10 less than it actually totalled) but still come away thinking 'we could of cooked in our house, and saved £70 towards our debt!'. - Still, we didn't, which is why I don't think I've had a real LBM!
The main thing, and a very telling thing, is that you budgeted for it - debt busting doesn't have to mean complete regression from society and entertainment! Now, if you'd gone out and spent without even thinking about how much it was costing you, that would be different. Don't beat yourself up about a little treat every now and then
I genuinely think this is my lightbulb moment. I've had a few false dawns where I though I had, but I ended up relapsing. It feels different this time - like I've developed a massive aversion to debt - and I feel determined. It's very easy to say that 4 days into the new year thought :rotfl:0 -

Yeah I guess you're right. One date night in four months isn't that bad! And it was needed! And very enjoyable too!I genuinely think this is my lightbulb moment. Ha! True. I'm feeling very focused too! I look back and absolutely cringe at some of the money we spent whilst our debt was higher than it is now. Never again!- [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]
- Bank Loan: £12,000 / £14,000
