Sorry a newbie here and after some opinions.

I won't be paying any more of my debts now until I get paid at the end of the month as I paid them last at the end of December when I was paid.

So would Januarys payments for this challenge be from my wages I get paid at the end of the month or for the money I have for the month that I got paid at the end of December??

Does that even make sense lol :o

I get paid on the last working day of the month- my next payday 30th Jan - seems like forever away!

My DD are set to come out on the 1st of every month (most came out today) and i manually pay the others on payday for the forthcoming month. (so paid the other day for January)

I worked my debt out as of 1st January 2015, and then deducted the payments i have made towards them so far this month.
Finally dealing with debt: 01.01.2015 -£10,562.:(

It's always worth talking to a broker - not one in an estate agent! - as they will be able to guide you through it and make sure you get a good deal :)

I was going to say the exact same thing !

As the challenge finishes as Christmas, and i get paid towards the end of each month, I use December's pay as January's debt payment, then I'll use January's pay as February's payment. Hope that makes sense.

However you want to play it! Some people make loads of little payments all through the months, whereas others only make one or two payments. The common thing to do is to update your total each time a payment leaves your account.

There's no monthly challenge, just a Christmas target, so feel free to do it however you like

  • I was planning to update this challenge at the end of each month but I just had to get myself off the mark! Had an unexpected extra payment to a credit card as the direct debit I set up kicked in but I had already paid it so that's got me off the starting line :) with a payment of £51.38, but I have accounted for interest too! xx
