Ooh, sounds exciting! Thought you'd just moved to a new rental property?

We did! It's a new build so it won't be ready straight away. We'll be completing just as our six month tenancy comes to an end. It was unplanned, but sometimes things just seem to happen!0 -
Congrats pablosammy! Hope the purchase is a smooth one...
Hi everyone, I'm popping in to see how you're all getting on in the final furlong. A lot of debt free members now, so big congratulations to everyone!
I have been a bit absent this year, between one thing and another. We have settled into our new flat now, and started putting money aside to repay our debt. Unfortunately life has been throwing hurdles at us, and it's possible my OH will have to take some unpaid time off. Thankfully our mortgage isn't a lot, so we can cope on my income alone (people were surprised we didn't buy somewhere for the maximum the bank would allow us to borrow, but I feel justified now!) and I have been squirelling away for christmas and rainy days, however no payments have been made, and none are likely until we know more.
Hoping you're all looking forward to Christmas0 -
Its gone awfully quiet here hope everyone is ok
Sent £55.32 towards my credit card seeing as hubby gets paid tomorrow
Brings my total to £6582.55 / £6000

Hope your dog is ok xx
Thanks, he's right as rain now! Shame it'll take my finances longer to recover.
More bad news, our landlord is trying to sell our house and we've got two viewings this week. I really want to stay here for another year, until I've saved up a deposit to buy somewhere myself, so fingers crossed they're not serious buyers. Even if they don't want to buy it though, I hate the viewings.0 -

I could have written that exact statement three months ago, we were in the same position - nearly there with a deposit, but not quite, and with a landlord who wanted to sell. We ended up moving out into another rental because the viewings felt like an invasion of privacy. They still haven't sold it after five months on the market, and I still have the keys to check for mail every now and then. It's cold and damp and unloved now, and although I don't like to see anybody struggling, it makes me secretly smirk on the inside after they inconvenienced us so much :A0 -
Hubby got paid .....sent £35.20 towards my barcalycard ......will hold off any further payments until my next statement is in which is due on the 27th xx

Yes it is a bit quiet on here. I'm still here! Been reading others updates but nothing to report till next week when I'll pay another £400 to 'the debt'. That will leave just £200 left!
Annoying my final debt payment goes out on Dec 28th this year, so I'll be debt free 3 days after christmas - Not quite meeting the deadline there but pretty damn close
I see you have included your student loan in your debts Pablosammy, I've got a student loan debt of around 20K  but as it's automatically deducted from my wages I'm not including it as a debt, I see it more as a graduate tax. I hope I can still declare myself debt free on the 28th of December without it being a fraudulent claim!
I won't have any loans, credit cards, mortgage, or HP debt of any kind, nothing to report on my credit file, so to me that counts as debt freeStarting 2016 debt-free
