There will be! I'm just starting to canvass for a volunteer to run it, and I think blubella has expressed an interest. Keep your eyes peeled towards the end of the year.

I joined the previous thread around this time last year, and set myself a small target for the remaining two months. You'd be welcome to do the same!

Oooh. Gosh I feel silly now. I made a massive post in the forum earlier about my plan to be totally 100% debt free by next Christmas and then found this

(it has no replies. with any luck it'll just... fade away and be forgotten and we'll pretend it never happened :rotfl:)

So I'll join now with what I plan to pay off next month (this month has been and gone with payments already)

Aqua CC: pay £500 to get down to £1,400.83
Capital One CC: pay £25 to get down to £436.18
Vanquis CC: pay £25 to get down to £223.47
HSBC Overdraft: nope. It's £100 and it's staying that way until the CCs are gone
Loan from a friend: £150 to get down to £1,100

I already worked out my payments for the next year (including calculating all the interest each month as I cleared more and more) so as long as I can stick to a tight budget and no emergencies occur I'll be debt free by this time next year :D

(Well, I say December. I get benefits and they're paid 2 or 4-weekly rather than monthly. I just start my 'financial month' the day after rent. Which is to say my months run from the 25th-24th.

Anyway tl;dr I should be making those payments on November 27th when the next lot of money is due in)

Last but not least, a belated October total. Together we paid off...

    £26,624.82

...which pretty much exactly matches last year's total (although we did slightly better ). Well done everybody!!!

  • Payday. Wife starts maternity leave this month, so money diverted to make sure we have enough for the new arrival. £260, takes me to;

Pace of debt reduction will slow down for me for a while now. The good thing is though, with YNAB, I know we can afford the next few months. I dread to think where we would be without having found that!
  • Hi Pablo, thanks for the lovely award but I am not debt free yet :-(

I have reached this year's target though and will be back next year to clear the rest of my debt.

  • I had to take my dog to the emergency vet last night (on a Sunday ), so I put a hefty sum on the credit card. I'll have to divert some of my payments from my interest-free card to pay it off, so... I won't be debt free by Christmas. I'm disappointed, but that's life I suppose.
