  • Hi all.

I'm new but have been lurking around on MSE since the start of November 2014, I'm really inspired by many of you. Since lurking around i have started over paying on some of our debts, (reducing our bank loan by 2 months already)

I would love to be debt free by Christmas 2015 (realistically its probably going to be July 2016 according to my spreadsheet, unless something drastic happens - like a pay rise, but working in the public sector that really isn't going to happen!)

Between me and the hubby we have 10.5K worth of debt, (credit cards and bank loan.) I intent to move our cards over to another 0% interest card in the new year once our current offer runs out.

My aim is to be debt free as soon as possible so i can start over paying on the mortgage- i would like to be mortgage free and debt free by 40 (I'm currently 33) We can totally do this, I am starting to get my hubby to see my way of thinking. It will be a tough 18 ish months for us but will be so worth it to be debt free and to start making our money work for us, instead of the other way around.

Hey KittyCat1981! I've given you #059, welcome to the thread :) In spite of the thread title, lots of us set targets that are less than our total debt... if you think it'll be more achievable, I can set a smaller target? Don't let me stop you being ambitious though :rotfl:

    Hello,
I joined last years thread but honestly I was absolutely dreadful and still hid my head in the sand :( so not much changed for us.

    We have £6192 outstanding.

I'm not sure we'll come close to clearing that this year but heck even 50% I'd be happy with.
So my monthly target is to pay £258, which would pay off 50% by the this time next year.

Even that is a very tall order at the moment but I'm determined to do what I can. :o

Well done for staying around, you're number #060 this year, Keep plugging away :)

I don't, thank god. But I am on the commuter line and they're building a lot of houses right now  and they're way more than I can afford!

Damn our wages. It's almost impossible to live and save really. Think I might go over to the frugal living challenge!
