  • I'm late to the party but please sign me up! I could do with having a "real" look at my balances after I get paid next week and pay off the last bit of this year's challenge total but could I get a number now anyway?!
Actually just read through this thread and it's gotten me all motivated so I've checked where I'll be up to at Christmas and can declare a total! :D

£8202.00 to be cleared in the next 369 days! :xmassign: 2015!

(£22.23 a day in case anyone was wondering :rotfl:)

369 days to Christmas, is that it? :rotfl:I'll get you signed up on my catch-up tomorrow, welcome back!
My husband won £1k in the christmas draw at work. Sheer luck! Xx

Lucky !!!!!!! I never win anything, I'm one of those types. A nice lottery win, 5 number and the bonus for example, is all I'm asking - it's not too much is it? :rotfl:

I've set up my 2015 budget and spreadsheet and have £60 left over this month so making my first small but perfectly formed payment towards my 2015 target and looking to clear a long standing credit card by 1 Feb 2015.

  • Hi Pepperoni, I have struggled sometimes not to empty my savings pots in a tight month or when my wish to spend is high. I've found it easier when it was in a totally different bank account too so it was more out of sight out of mind. Plus then I had to remember my log-ins etc which put me off/bought me time. A bit like moving your money around in your handbag.
    Good luck!!

    Thanks!

I use YNAB and tend to refer to that more than my bank account, so it is technically in another account for me! I know what you're saying though - will have to be careful the 'savings' stay 'savings'! :o

I do the same, but if anyone is genuinely looking for a second current account, TSB currently pay 5% APR on credit balances up to £2k. :money:

  • Hi all.

I'm new but have been lurking around on MSE since the start of November 2014, I'm really inspired by many of you. Since lurking around i have started over paying on some of our debts, (reducing our bank loan by 2 months already)

I would love to be debt free by Christmas 2015 (realistically its probably going to be July 2016 according to my spreadsheet, unless something drastic happens - like a pay rise, but working in the public sector that really isn't going to happen!)

Between me and the hubby we have 10.5K worth of debt, (credit cards and bank loan.) I intent to move our cards over to another 0% interest card in the new year once our current offer runs out.

My aim is to be debt free as soon as possible so i can start over paying on the mortgage- i would like to be mortgage free and debt free by 40 (I'm currently 33) We can totally do this, I am starting to get my hubby to see my way of thinking. It will be a tough 18 ish months for us but will be so worth it to be debt free and to start making our money work for us, instead of the other way around.

    Hello,
I joined last years thread but honestly I was absolutely dreadful and still hid my head in the sand :( so not much changed for us.

    We have £6192 outstanding.

I'm not sure we'll come close to clearing that this year but heck even 50% I'd be happy with.
So my monthly target is to pay £258, which would pay off 50% by the this time next year.

Even that is a very tall order at the moment but I'm determined to do what I can. :o

  • Right, I've finished a couple of looooong days at work and have finally got around to catching up with the last couple of days worth of posts. Please check your totals on the front page, and if you're new, that I've assigned you a number!

I'm still feeling really optimistic about next year, and it sounds like lots of you are too. It's going to be a good year :T
