Friday means payday, wooo hooo. Another £110 off this week which means I'm within spitting distance of being within the target of getting to the £1000 paid off marker that I challenged myself to get to by the end of this month. Payday from my other job on Tuesday so may make another small payment then.

Really struggling to stay motivated. We have been told we owe money to tax credits, not a surprise as they have been taking payments already from previous years, but with change of circumstances we now have no payments to stop it from. Obviously, I have no objection to paying back what I owe but it means there is no way I will be debt free by xmas now. Feeling a little derailed.
I will update my new total soon.
    Sorry for the moan.
Well done to everyone who is sticking with it.

Hey Nomi. Remember Christmas is just an arbitrary point on a calendar some chap invented. Don't think you've failed if it takes longer. Set backs will happen (MOT fails, unexpected bills etc.) so it's important to keep trudging on. You'll get there sooner or later, and you'll wonder where the time went! Roll with the punches.

    Thanks Pablosammy,
I will stick with it of course, I wouldn't have got this far without this thread.
I need to be realistic about what is achievable, there are lots of things we need to spend on as well as pay off. Just need to find the right balance I think.

Hey all, just checking in finally to say we completed at 3pm today. I went down to get the keys at 5pm and check it out...

All I can say is...the last people must have been living in dirt and grime. It is filthy, dirty, greasey, hairy (cats) and needs a lot of cleaning/painting. But thankfully that is all it needs.

So weird we didn't see any of that when we visited the flat while being lived in. Amazing what a sofa and living stuff can cover up in a flat.

Annoying we are visiting my partners nan this weekend so got no time to get in there and clean more.

In sadder news I just blew £700 on a washing machine, fridge freezer and wardrobe on the credit card. I will pay it off when we get deposit back on old flat hopefully. promise.
