    Morning all,

£227 of payments have gone out today, taking me to:

    £1182/4683 (25%)

    More to follow tomorrow!

I wish I could take advantage of these high interest current accounts but my credit rating is poor (with a default on there) so I'm not sure I'd get accepted. I've got a current account with Lloyds that I use for my main banking but I don't earn enough to join 'Club Lloyds' without paying the £5 fee each month. Oh well!

    Happy Monday :)
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

  • I have made a payment of £125 to my barclaycard. I am also currently on hold to hmrc because I am convinced I am due a tax refund lol! Worth a try but it's possible I could be on hold all day

    #39 £1908/£20108/9.5%

Suppose I should make another payment to make it up to 10% but I will have to wait a few weeks to make sure I can manage the month x

  • Hey all!

Sorry I was absent for all of Feb - I was definitely a 'dipper' - spent more on my CC's to tide me over so even though I paid the same amount into them on payday my amount has increased over all :( I've updated my sig.

The only thing that does feel good is I continue to pay my PCDL off so my actual percentage has risen to 3% which is good for the psyche and motivation even though I'm really annoyed at myself for the dip.

We got our house keys last weekend which was a momentary high - but spent this weekend seeing builders and contractors to carry out the work it needs which plummeted me right back to earth. More expense to fork out before we can even live in it! Meanwhile we've set up the water, energy and even council tax bills and the first mortgage payment comes out in March. So we own and are paying for a property we don't live in yet - which is kind of disheartening at times. But hey chin up and keep going - we're luckier than most in that we've even got on the property ladder as first-time buyers so I should stop whingeing!

I also got a great deal through MSE's Energy Club meaning we've saved £330/yr on our energy bills and got £30 cashback so can't say fairer than that. The OH is looking into a PPI claim (which I reckon he has a good chance of getting something from) and I'm still tackling the UoM to get my freelance invoice paid so once that comes in I'll have some definite breathing room! We've also changed our 'house account' to Santander's 123 to earn cashback on bill payments. We don't have our mortgage with them so that doesn't count but we're considering looking into re-mortgage options (already) as Coventry messed us about so much initially.

The aim for March is to clear ONE of my debts in its entirety to feel better emotionally about the challenge ahead.

I haven't caught up on the rest of the thread yet but skimming through you're all doing brilliantly and welcome to all the newbies onboard too! Good luck all and here's to getting back on the wagon!! :)

    Hello everyone.

I have my update so far for march payments. I have paid so far ££311.85 which gives me a running total of....

    #36 £817.85/5084.82 16.08%

I still have one more payment to come out so this will rise a little. I have also overpaid on a couple so far which feels good.

  • Thank you for the number.

So 156 reporting in. I paid £68.12 off of my credit card today, but my debt has risen slightly due to interest since my last post - that's always the discouraging bit even though I know its going to happen!

However, i get paid in the middle of the month rather than at the end like most others seem to, so between March payday and April payday I intend to clear about £750 more. It may be a bit more or a bit less given that my catalogue debt will need the minimum paying twice in this pay month (its annoying when that happens) and its my biggest debt so I have to be careful with what I pay early in the month to ensure I don't miss the minimum later!

Still aiming for my November pay packet to be entirely my own!

  • Hey all :)

#59 checking in. £654 paid today.

I am hoping to pay more but have some uncertainties coming up so I want to ensure i have enough in the bank to pay them.

We finally complete on our house on 16th March (initial date was supposed to have been 26th January) Once we complete the difference between our rent and mortgage means we are £170 a month better off. I also start my new job on the 16th March with a huge pay rise- i just keep this is my mind when feeling disheartened.

February was a dire month, sons unexpected and un-budgeted birthday party cost us £250, we also renewed the kids passports at a cost of £96 (didnt realise they had ran out when i booked our holiday) - all this was supposed to have been throw towards our debt.

I am expecting an email from our conveyance solicitor today with our final bill, a few added extra i know already have been added onto the original £698 bill, as soon as i have a figure from them i will know how much extra i can pay this month towards our debt.

I hate uncertainty, i like to know exact figures- this has really messed up my spreadsheet lol :rotfl:

    Hi there,

I have paid another £505.05 off to the folks. Total now stands at £1,405.05 / 10,200 = 13.77%

(This was from February's wage, but I was late in updating).

A vision without a plan is just a dream.
