I was going to pay of the rest of my debt slowly and focus on saving but I just wanted to get rid of it. I made my final payment of £480.90 yesterday so I'm officially debt free. :j

Well done lolly!!!

Today I'm dreaming of my own place - keep catching my feet on broken kitchen floor tiles, and am cleaning up in preparation for inspection on Friday:mad::mad: The only perks are that if something breaks I don't have to fix it! :rotfl:0 -

#80 = £1800/£1800February is bonus month and both me and OH's bonuses were MUCH bigger than I expected.
So - I have managed to pay off everything I aimed for this year (before our 0% deals run out). :j
In a way I am a bit dissapointed. I don't feel the satisfaction I think I would have felt if we had paid this by watching what we spend. Instead it was handed to us on a platter.
Anyway, new total is:
021 :j [STRIKE] Silian £18,035.31 / £13,000.00 [/STRIKE]
Debt payment will be much slower going forward now (I have about £10k left). This is because:- OH will no longer be contributing as we have paid off our joint debt
- I'll be spending some of my money on much needed repairs to our house
- My 0% deals will only run out next year and my mortgage is VERY high - I'll be putting more money into that.
On the other hand, you never know what will happen and it will be better to have all the debts cleared. So I will continue to try to clear as much as I can despite these things.
Well done Lolly and Silian :T:T:T
A DD has left my account for Monday:

Also, OH's work underpaid him by £600  yesterday so will make a payment when he gets that.DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Hey mossy,
Edit: Right now I am making about £30 per month thanks to these changes (where I used to pay £17 per month) excluding the moving incentives.
THIS is why people should be bothered to switch or move accounts. An almost £50 per month increase in income.
I have a similar system in place. I get paid into Halifax, leave everything for bills in there. I then transfer everything else to TSB for the 5% credit interest. I do this for my personal accounts, and for the joint accounts we have. 2x Halifax rewards pay more than Santander as an ongoing arrangement - and we also managed to get two £100 switching payments. We also have a First Direct First Joint account that we use to fund a 6% regular saver. We don't pay any fees to First Direct because I keep £1 in an eSaver account. I opened a spare Halifax basic account to use to switch to Yorkshire Bank (as well as using an old First Direct account to open the 2nd), and following payment of the £150 switch and £150 compensation into that Yorkshire Bank account I have today opened and switched to Nationwide via Topcashback for £84 and 5% on £2500 for a year. When I get the 2nd Incentive payment from Yorkshire Bank I will probably apply to open a Co-Op account for a further £100.
Switching banks is absolutely worth the effort. :money:0 -
Well done Lolly :j
