    Morning all

I haven't been on here for ages . . . due to re-spending on credit cards (out of necessity) and generally feeling blah:embarasse

However - good news this week  Had some money rebated to me that I was totally not expecting which has enabled me to re-pay the Next debt in full!

A close family member has also said they may be able to loan me the rest of the money to pay off the credit cards (saving £50 per month interest alone) and then I can re-pay them at 0% instead.

    Onwards and upwards eh!!

    # 72 £769.19 / £2733
    DFBXmas 2015 £1933 / £2733

    Barclaycard £800 - Luma £0 - Next £0

First of all, apologies for being absent for the last few days - it's been absolutely manic at work and I've not stopped! I've got a few posts to make, so first of all... welcome to the new guys!
Hi. Could I possibly join this please?

Currently I'm at £6227.76 debt (pending monthly interest which I'm hoping to whittle away at).

This is down from £7558.02 as of January 1st.

Hey PartyPoison, I'll put you down as number 156 if that's ok? Well done for taking a chunk out of your debt already this year, keep it up :T

    Hello all

Total newbie here, but feeling I need a community to spur me on. OH perhaps not on the same page with the old clearing debts mission so its down to me to take charge.

Can I have a number please and then there's no going back!

Big scary, impossible (?) target of £30,681

    Many thanks

Hi LadyEB, I've got number 157 put aside for you! Big target, but it doesn't matter if it rolls into next year. Lots of us have been on the thread for a few years now. Good luck :D

Secondly, huge congratulations to our two new debt-free successes!

February is bonus month and both me and OH's bonuses were MUCH bigger than I expected.

So - I have managed to pay off everything I aimed for this year (before our 0% deals run out). :j

In a way I am a bit dissapointed. I don't feel the satisfaction I think I would have felt if we had paid this by watching what we spend. Instead it was handed to us on a platter.

    Anyway, new total is:

    021 :j [STRIKE] Silian £18,035.31 / £13,000.00 [/STRIKE]

Debt payment will be much slower going forward now (I have about £10k left). This is because:
    • OH will no longer be contributing as we have paid off our joint debt
    • I'll be spending some of my money on much needed repairs to our house
    • My 0% deals will only run out next year and my mortgage is VERY high - I'll be putting more money into that.
On the other hand, you never know what will happen and it will be better to have all the debts cleared. So I will continue to try to clear as much as I can despite these things.

Don't feel disappointed - you've worked for those bonuses, so well done you! Here's a well deserved medal...

I was going to pay of the rest of my debt slowly and focus on saving but I just wanted to get rid of it. I made my final payment of £480.90 yesterday so I'm officially debt free. :j

Woo! Well done to you, congratulations! Have a medal

And last but not least, the moment you've all been waiting for... the total for February! Well, WOW. We've absolutely smashed last year's total by over £20k, thanks to one or two huge one-off payments, and loads and loads of determined people making their regular overpayments.

Seriously, you've all done so well!

    Februarys's total was...

    £72,724.50

Now go and pat yourselves on the back! :)
