Glad that all went well at your scan, Pootle, and hope that your placenta moves up. Congratulations too on having a girl!

We found out at our scan that we're having a boy; it was quite visible on the screen and the sonographer typed it up as didn't want out DD to hear. I can't quite believe it is right though; there hasn't been a boy in the family for 10 years... the last 7 babies have all been girls! We're keeping it secret until baby arrives - just OH and I know.

I heard the heartbeat today, the midwife felt a kick so I've been prodding my tummy trying to feel a kick too! Poor baby. So excited I have my babies heartbeat recorded!

Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well and congratulations to all those who have had their scans recently! Mine was yesterday, and we found out we are having a boy :T He was very wriggly so it was lovely to see him moving about. Can feel very definite movements now, although no clear kicks as such, and can't be felt on the outside yet.

I had the GTT this morning and it wasn't too bad. Now I just need to wait for the results. I also asked when my next scan will be as I have to have extra growth scans due to previous big babies and shoulder dystocia with my last baby and they had no record of it, but the receptionist was absolutely lovely and will be booking the appointments and will send them to me in the post.

On another note, I looked in the mirror this morning whilst washing my hands and noticed what looks like a burst blood vessel in my eye! It looked very scary, and I can only think it happened when I coughed quite violently after drinking the horrid glucose preparation this morning.

I'm having my flu jab on Saturday as well - oh the joys of becoming a human pincushion when you're pregnant!

I really think I should move over to the next thread but it all seems too real if I do that!

Congratulations on graduating michbright! See you there in 6 weeks! On a worse note, sorry to hear about your eye! My work have advised they will be sending a nurse to give me the flu jab, extra precautions. I've never had it before.

Congratulations on your baby boy Bean83! !

My blood pressure is rising, my 'friend' who is still ttc can be so hurtful and upsetting. Not once has she commented on any positive points of my pregnancy or asked me about the scan but CONSTANTLY reminding me of risks for having a high BMI and saying she wouldn't have liked if her baby was Downs because she was overweight. I didn't realise this was a risk factor. I get its hard for her but if she keeps being so horrible I can't cope with speaking to her. I am trying my best and want the best for my baby it's just so upsetting when she's so cruel all the time.

Hi all, congrats to all who have found out the gender of bubbas, we found out what we are having as wanted to be organised. Sweetilemon, so sorry that your friend is being awful, sounds like she is a bit jealous. I would maybe try to distance myself for a bit if you can. I'm over 24weeks now so should move over to the thread.

Yeah I keep trying then think I'm being a bit mean so just don't talk about it and chat about other things but she seems to have a way of bringing it up in a cruel way. It is definately jealously and I understand just wish she wouldn't take it out on me. We've been friends 12yrs so wouldn't like it to ruin our friendship so I keep trying but it's so nasty. I just can't bare to stop talking to her over this but I think I'm going to have to if she keeps upsetting me like this.

Morning all
congrats to those who have had their scans, not long til ours when we get back from hols :j I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed atm, we're taking DD abroad for the first time on Sunday (to visit in-laws in the Canaries), and then when we get back there's only 3 weeks until we move, eek :eek: Plus work is really busy as well, and I don't have any holiday left to take as we'd given up on moving and used the holiday for other things!

Sweetilemon, I'm sorry your friend is still being so difficult, I know it's hard for her but she shouldn't be making you so upset. I'm a bit in the same boat (on the opposite side), in that my best friend is pregnant, and her due date is the same as mine from the baby I lost in May. I'm finding it very difficult to be around her at the moment (tricky as we work together), especially as she's not dealing with being pg very well and constantly moaning about it. I don't think she understands that I'm still sad. I'm trying to be supportive, but my sympathy is running out

Littlemoog that must be a hard reminder, especially when you work with her. I think that's why I haven't cut myself off from her, I realise it must be really hard to watch a friend go through something you so desperately want which is one of the reasons I haven't shown her my 12w scan photo although I'm so proud and would love her to share that. She hasn't asked how it went. To be reminded constantly of all the risks and negatives that could happen is quite draining, especially as I'm well aware and trying to enjoy my pregnancy as much as it's realitively healthy atm.

The house I viewed yesterday is already under offer, our price bracket/requirements are moving so fast! I wish my flat would sell so quick but flats seem to be in abundance.
