Twinklie - Congrats on team blue!

emmaj30 - It took about a week to get my letter saying I was low risk. I'm not sure how long it takes to get a phone call if you're high risk.

Starting to get uncomfortable at night now. I can't seem to stay in one position for more than about half an hour without waking up aching. Combine that with about 4 toilet trips a night and I seem to be in a constant state of tiredness!

20 week scan tomorrow. I'm much more nervous about it this time than I was with DD. I think maybe I'm just a lot less naive about potential problems now than I was then.

I'm booking a holiday for next summer today. It's very strange planning something around an 11 month old that doesn't exist yet!
  • It took about 2 weeks to get my letter saying low risk. I was told I would hear quickly if it was high risk - certainly within a week.

I'm getting pretty uncomfortable at night too in exactly the same way as you musogirl. I've got one of those dream geni pillows which helps a bit but doesn't stop me needing the toilet every few hours! That's forward planning booking next years hols now - going anywhere nice?
  • Ricegirl- we're looking at going to the Holiday Village in Tunisia ( I say looking as they've been having technical issues and I haven't been able to book yet!) We've been there twice before and it's amazing for young families. DD started school this year so we're at the mercy of term dates, hence why we are booking so early to try and get various discounts and give us a year to save up!

It's so nice to have people to talk to on here & to know I'm not the only one worrying about everything. I don't know anyone who has been through this before that I can talk to about this kind of stuff so really glad to have you guys.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Twinklie - hope it all goes well & you find out the sex!

On a different note, has anyone else had really itchy boobs? There are times when mine are so bad it's unbearable. Using cocoa butter twice a day but doesn't seem to help much. Anyone else found anything that helps?

I have had itchy skin yes. Not specifically boobs but generally itchier. Be careful if it does seem extreme. My sister developed a condition in her 2nd pregnancy that was extreme itching. She got prescribed some form of steroid cream if I remember rightly.

  • Thanks for the reply Bobarella. I did mention it to the midwife and she said it was normal. Sometimes it's ok but sometimes it gets almost unbearable. I'll keep an eye on it & head to the docs if it gets worse.

Your hol plans sound fab musogirl. Me & OH are going away at the end of May for what we expect to be our last foreign hol for a while. Can't imagine travelling far with a little one in tow.

Ricegirl - Personally I've found taking a baby on holiday is easier than a toddler! They have naps in the day so you're not constantly on the go keeping them entertained like you are when they are 2 or 3 and still too young to go in a kids club for an hour or two each day. Bubs will be about 10/11 months when we go so if DD is anything to go by they should be sleeping more reliably and not on crazy amounts of formula which obviously bulk up your luggage! The hardest bit is the flying but if you're only doing a short flight (Tunisia is 3 hours) and you try and get day flights so crying baby doesn't wake other passengers it's not too bad. Also, under 2's tend to travel for free so better then than after 2 years when you'll be paying several hundred for their own seat.

20 week scan today. Everything looks ok but baby wouldn't get into a position why they could view spine and kidneys so we have to go back for another try in 3 weeks. This baby is going to be one of the most scanned babies in history at this rate. The next scan will be number 5!

My little man did the same thing. Wouldn't behave and sit still. So she sent me for a wee and to walk up and down stairs. We managed to get the spine then...eventually.

I had the same thing. In the end the doctor pressed hard into my stomach with the scanning tool and sort of jiggled the baby! Then we saw the spine ok.

Gosh the other thing I find very annoying is the tiredness in the evenings. It's not even 9pm & I am dead on my feet. I was really looking forward to watching an episode of my Netflix series but realistically I would just fall asleep so may as well go to bed anyway. Dislike losing my evenings :(
