April - we went for the Joolz day too.
At my 16week I heard the heartbeat and they just had a quick chat checking I was feeling ok and asked if I had any issues. I didn't actually get weighed so I did that myself when I got home. I didn't have to do bloods just the usual wee sample.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
So i'm back. Bit of a wait as another lady turned up with partner and toddler in tow and he had to go back to work so I waited for the next slot.
And after saying remember notes here, got all the way to the children's centre and almost of out the car before realising they were still here by the computer. But given her printer was going for gobbledegook, it wouldn't have mattered!
Urine tested, no bloods taken, looked over results from Bloods at 12 week scan. Nowhere near the level for iron top ups but apparently my platelets are a bit low. Not weighed either. I know I've gained but daren't step on the scales as I won't like the number. However, my poor boat is sitting low in the water now so I've put on a chunk for sure.
Also got the 'well officially too early to listen to the heartbeat and ladies worry if they don't hear it' but said give it a go and heard my little show off loud and clear :-)0 -
Glad everyone's scans and midwife appointments have gone OK. I've not had weight or bloods done since initial booking in appointment (although have weighed myself at home, put on about a stone now!). Just had urine, blood pressure and baby's heartbeat done at each appointment. I had a student midwife yesterday for my pre- holiday check (normal one was there too) and baby made it very awkward for her to do the heartbeat.
Thanks for all the holidays wishes, cat has been sent packing, I've been to the hairdressers, packed and now just waiting for the taxi! Strange to think I'll be 24 weeks when we get back, not sure I'm ready for the big thread!0 -
Have a good holiday penguin.
I am starting to feel movement now - mainly at night - not sure if its because i'm relaxing the so can feel it more?
Mothercare sent me an email about their 'expectant parent evening' - anyone booked onto one yet?
Had my whooping cough injection this morning, alot worse than the flu jab, seem to have a sore arm still.
My next midwife appointment isn't till 28 weeks at hospital rather than community midwife as I have to have anti d injection.
Think everyone has next bloods done around 28 weeks?0 -
I've got anomaly scan 20 weeks, growth scan 24 weeks and midwife at 25/ 26 weeks.
One of those will take blood I'm sure
And 141 isn't that low for platelets at all, barely below normal range, and nowhere near as terrifyingly low as some forum posts on mumsnet, e.g. 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Oh yes, whooping cough hurt for a few days (I had it at 20 week consultant appt after scan).
Vanilla, I feel most movement at night. Also after tea if I'm stretched or in sofa, I wondered if having a full belly helps?0 -
I heard the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment - but the midwife practically had to wrangle the baby as it wouldn't stay still :rotfl: I have heard that a lot don't try to listen just incase they can't find it.
I was 20 weeks yesterday and probably from about 1pm till bedtime, the baby's movement was constant. I bent down in the car to pick something up and got a massive movement, so they obviously got a bit squished and didn't like it!). I'm pretty sure I felt the tiniest of movements from the outside last night as well, but haven't felt any more yet. OH is getting more and more desperate to feel it!
We're off to look at the mamas and papas sola2 travel system tomorrow, fingers crossed they'll have it in store. I am liking the look of it because it's quite sturdy looking. It's also on an offer with bounty at the moment with a cotbed and various other bits and pieces. The Joolz looks amazing, you lucky girls! I saw a stokke in mothercare earlier and didn't like it - I do like the higher seat for the baby, but I'm not sure I could see over it properly and I'm not THAT short!
I also ordered a graco fast action sport for when we go to my parents' - it came with a car seat as well, so I don't need to fly with our own car seat.
I've started going through 'baby essentials lists' and the amount of stuff on them that is not in the slightest bit 'essential'! Nice to have, sure; but you don't desperately need to have them :undecided
Penguingirl - have an amazing babymoon! I'm jealous!0 -
Glad your appt went well Arbrighton.
Vanilla I got the same email so booked into Mothercares one for the end of Feb. Mama and Papas also have one in a few week, which I've also booked. They also tend to offer money off at these events so think we'll hold of buying our buggy till then.
Penguin have a nice holiday, hope it's nice and chilled.
Sweet have a look to see if you have a Mama and Papas event coming up near you, you may save extra if you can get a space for it.0 -
Thanks for the mothercare event tip Vanilla. I've googled and booked for end of Feb. I like the idea of 10% discount!0
-
Thank you vanilla for the Mothercare event tip! I've also googled it and booked on. Think I'll save our pram purchase until I'm clutching my discount card!
Both OH and I just love browsing in there. Can't get enough of it; mainly looking at the baby clothes! So I'm sure the discount card will be well used...
My scan is next Tuesday; can't wait. Kicks are getting stronger and feel a bit more further forward. Was convinced one sharp one was right at the front yesterday and got OH to put his hand on my stomach but of course no luck... Hopefully within the next couple of weeks!Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0
