Got more from about 18, but there is so much variation depending on position of bean, placenta etc. And I feel your pain about over enthusiastic OHs! I just want to paint, but he has lots of other stuff that apparently needs done and it never progresses as a speed that suits my impatience.
He's not overenthusiastic per se and he's right that it makes sense to do it now, he'd just kind of been quiet about it for a while and I forgot!0 -
Sweet, the time leading up to the scan seems to drag so much.
I got an appointment through yesterday for the genetics dept for next week, has anyone else had to see them? If so, any heads up on what to expect would be great. Everything has come back fine so far, so its more family history than anything, so not really concerned by it.
Ah I'm so jealous of everyone doing up/starting on their nurseries. Me and the OH are debating a move but need to wait to sell until the roof gets replaced. Found out the start date will no longer be this month, but now March  Hopefully it wont take longer than the 6 weeks estimated and we can get the next part organised.0 -
We aren't moving again. EVER!
House had a lot done to it to make it right for us but we're still trying to get shoddy leaky roof sorted and there are other things to do. There is a 'yes it must be done before bean' list and a bit more motivation from both of us. But the room was going to be decorated anyway and carpeted, and neutral paint as we were starting to think about a bean, just bean decided to be prompt!0 -
So I have finally started feeling little nudges :rotfl: an active little baby. It was amazing haha. Think the OH feels a little jealous as he obviously won't feel anything for a bit longer.
Hope everyone else if keeping well:)0 -
Aw April that's so exciting! Hope your OH feels so something soon. Mine did earlier than I expected- I just had to prepare him that it wouldn't be as dramatic as he expects. Even now with lots of movement he's only happy if he gets a big kick.
Babymoon for us this week, forecast looks lovely and I think it is much needed. Got a bit overwhelmed by it all yesterday, think it was a combination of having a very busy work week, this hassle about annual leave, the house looking like a diy disaster, people asking/expecting me to do things without thinking that I might not have the time/energy, parents being needy as they have decided to downsize after 28 years (and a lot of hoarding and mess) and seem to be running every tiny detail past me and not really making any time for myself. So plan for holiday is to escape everyone/everything! And I'm going to get better at saying no to things!
Anyone else have moments of turning into a hormonal mess?0 -
Ah Penguin, he was glad to hear that he might feel it sooner rather than later. I don't think I'll ever get used to feeling him kick. Ah where you off to Penguin, I hope your able to chill and just have some you and OH time
Learning to say no to things sounds like a good shout, but it's so easy to get caught up and forget that you have to slow down. Emotional mess, tick :rotfl: I cry at a lot of things just now, music videos, tv shows but I was prepared. I remember my sister crying at Family Fortunes during her pregnancy :rotfl:
New was it yourself who went for the Joolz? We had a good play with one today and it seems like that's the one we're going to go for, so thanks for that one. Had never heard of it till you mentioned it, the woman in the shop said it's relatively new to us up here.0 -
We're going to Rome, so excited! Although jealous I can't drink all the wine. I will make up for it with food! We've not booked any touristy stuff, but will do some and it looks like there's an easy bus system so if I get tired we can just go back to the hotel.
Where do people recommend for pram and car seat browsing? I was thinking mothercare and John Lewis. We both have old cars (but might upgrade one during mat leave) so need to make sure we have one that can be fitted with seat belts, although my preference to be to have an isofix option too. And I don't plan to buy a travel system with a carrycot as I'd rather baby be in a lie flat pram, so need one that we can carry from maternity ward. And I'd rather have one with the option of rear facing for longer than 12-15 months. But if I can't have all that in one, I'd rather buy one that doesn't break the back so we can upgrade when baby is bigger/we have a new car.0 -
Have a brilliant time, Penguin! Hope you manage to completely switch off and relax - what a fab place to do it
We've been to both Mothercare and JL, but don't think we're any closer to making a decision. It's sort of been good to hear what my friends recommend, but they've all said completely different things! It's hard to predict what the most important features for us will be, and also we will probably need to replace our car (or get a 2nd as OH has moved jobs) this year.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Hey - we did Mothercare and Babies R Us. Babies R Us we're amazingly helpful and we bought from there in the end - they also price match.
I agree friends do help but only partly - everyone has different priorities!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
Penguin I hope you have a nice time.
I would second Mothercare, the help we've had in there when we've visited has been amazing. They are so informative, and offer to let you try it out in your boot and everything. One thing she did mention yesterday was don't forget about looking at car seats if you do want to be able to attach it to the buggy for quick shops etc as not all Isofix models fit in your car, something I've come across when I've been reading reviews this morning. Also JL who have a big selection. I would say Mamas and Papas but I've found the few times we've gone in there, there hasn't been much of a selection.
I've found with friends and family, they mostly point out the negatives, which does help but as Cats said everyone has different priorities.0
