Hope you're all looking forward to the weekend! I have a wee question...how much movement should I expect at this stage (21 weeks tomorrow). For the past week I have had SO much movement...wee kicks every few hours but yesterday I had a scare as she didn't move all day. I tried everything, eating sugary things, lying on my side etc etc and she was not for moving. I was starting to panic but then at about 9.30pm she gave a couple of wee kicks and another couple about an hour later.
Now again today, nothing. I know it's only lunch time but for the last week she was particularly active between 10am and lunch. I'm probably worrying over nothing and it's too early to do the kick counting but going from one extreme to another is making me really anxious!
I didn't start feel really regular movements until a few weeks ago and I'm 29 weeks. When we went for our 4D scan, we could not wake the baby up and they said they sleep for 7 hours at a time! I had drunk lucozade beforehand, got up and jumped about, drank cold water... it would not wake up! It's only been this past week, I've felt it more during the day... usually it's first thing in the morning and when I get home from work. It's hard, try not to panic, but call your midwife if you do get worried.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Thanks psycho, I know you're right...it's just so easy to worry about every little thing. At the 20 week scan we had to get her moving so we could see the spine properly and the sonographer sent me off to have some caramel shortcake which seemed to work...so I got some at lunch and about 10mins ago I think I felt a couple of kicks. Although I'm thinking about it so much I'm not sure if I might be imagining it!!!0

PP I have been feeling fluttery movements every day but not in what I would call a regular pattern. I think it varies from person to person though. I agree with psycho, if you are concerned give your midwife a buzz and get some advice. I'm sure everything is absolutely fine though xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0

It's also hard to know if you can feel it when you are busy too... but it won't be long before you feel it regularly, I promiseBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

had my 16 wk midwife apt today. all blood results are normal. phew! was so worried. she booked me in for another one in 4 weeks time. that's when we also have the 20 wk scan and we can find out if it is a boy or girl.
quick qn I hope - am I supposed to be doing any exercise to prepare for the birth?0 -
supki, anything to help keep you fit is great and will help. Walking and swimming are good gentle exercises you can start in moderation at a pace you're happy with. It isn't recommended you start doing anything strenuous or any cardio if you're not used to it normally. Pelvic floor exercises are also something everybody should try to do as much as possible.0

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend...my wee lady is back to kicking all the time again which is a relief, she must have been just having a rest day!
Re exercise, they definitely say keeping active will help. I was v active before I fell pregnant, running etc but since then I've pretty much done yoga and pilates and that's all. Just too scared! I'm starting a Daisy Birthing class tomorrow night which I think is a combo of yoga, breathing techniques and antenatal class type info, looking forward to it!0 -
PP I've never heard of those classes, they sound good though! Let us know how you get on xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0

Will definitely let you know. I decided that the NHS antenatal classes weren't for me so did some research and booked this. OH thinks some of it sounds a bit naff but if it helps me get through labour then I'll try anything!!
I think they have classes all over but I'll update on how it is tonight, just in case anyone else might be interested in something similar!

Just stalking as I'm hopefully only 1 week from joining you...!
I'm doing something similar to pink petal although has a different name. I'm somewhat optimistically hoping for as natural a birth as possible so getting started early on getting my yoga and meditation in sync with pregnancy :-)
I'm also still gymming and running a bit but will see how long that lasts...! The heat has been my biggest issue for running.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
