Hi both, yes i am due on 19th November although consultant said last week she will probably get me in for induction as i am 42 years old and will be 43 on 1st November x
  • 20 week scan went well and we didn't catch any accidental glimpses of things we didn't want to know :) I'm sure it's a girl though, another lady in the waiting room was on the phone to her mum saying that the boy bits were sticking right up so she has a lovely scan photo of his bits! My cousins also went well and everything is fine which is a relief.

I'm of a similar age yet it wasn't mentioned at all, not even once.. they just make a big deal out of a non-issue.. mind you I have plenty of other things they could get hysterical about so that was the least of the issues.

My daughter at 18 had more problems during pregnancy and birth than I did with any of mine.

Hi everyone! Just dipping my toe in there! Had my 12 week scan yesterday and I'm 12+3, due on 31 December. It's our first so we are clueless...I apologise in advance for the amount of questions I'll probably be asking!

  • Hey Pink Petal - welcome to stage two of worrying about everything! :D I'm 18+3 with my first and also have no idea what's happening :rotfl:

Had our gender scan at the weekend - we're having a boy! :happylove Was nice to see him squirming around and we had a quick look in 4D which was weird - totally looked like a baby otter :p

20 week scan next Friday so not long to wait to see him again - just need to get through this week of night shifts without falling asleep at work! Then next week could do with having a good tidy round to make space for our nursery furniture and new bathroom arriving! Soooo much to do!
  • Welcome to the newbies and congratulations of course.

So just over 2 weeks ago hubby and I picked up the baby things off my sister that my mum had stored in her house. We quickly found out that she has given us loads, clothes, moses basket, baby bath, toys, play mat things, bouncy chair things you name it. The clothes just need washing as they have been in storage for a while and then the toys just need a wipe over again from being in storage.

I am starting to notice more the baby's movements. Hubby is a little gutted that he can't feel anything yet, but I told him that it will happen soon. Any ideas if it's too early to be talking/thinking about names?

  • Welcome to the thread Pink Petal!

We have discussed names but not got anywhere get... DH wants a true Scottish name, we live in Essex so I think it needs to be slightly Scottish but nothing that will increase the chances of being bullied! It's so difficult... Years ago we drunkenly agreed on Florence but I also like Rosie and Bonnie (this was DHs favourite dolls name!). Boys are much harder, we can't agree on any... We both like Lachlan but it is pronounced differently by Scottish and English accents so it wouldn't be the same!

The placenta is at the front so takes a lot of the kicking so I haven't really felt much yet... Although this morning I felt it across the front and it had obviously moved to a weird position as it hurt and my tummy was wonky to one side :)
