OH is struggling to sleep at the moment. Just can't find a comfortable position.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I've been trying to sleep on my left side but I don't know if I've been staying there all night. I've had a quite a hectic week and the last couple of nights I've been so tired I think I could have slept standing up.
Our scan is a week tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it as it feels a like while since our last.
I've bought a few long vests from Matalan £4 each, they come right down over your bum, they keep bump covered really well and disguise if my top button is left open as I haven't had a chance to look into some new work trousers yet.
I hope everyone else is well?0 -
I try too Beckyy.
Think we're going to have to swap side of the bed because if I sleep on my left I face the middle of the bed and hate it if DH is facing me because I can feel him breathing! Also thinking about getting a pregnancy pillow of some sort, will probably be useful when the bump gets bigger!
I need to get a few more longer and looser t shirts. Don't usually wear button up trousers so haven't had that issue. I am looking forward to the trousers with the stretchy pouch though!0 -
I attempt to sleep on my left as much as possible, but get really bad uncomfortable and bad pain in my hip so always end up rolling over. I used to always sleep on my right , that's how I'm most comfy so I can't help rolling over to my right side when I'm asleep!!
I do have a bit of a dilemma. So I currently work full time and study one afternoon into evening a week on a post graduate course, I'm year one of two. I had decided way back I would have a year off and pick it back up next year. On talking with work they had assumed I would carry on in September and colleagues were saying it would be easier to do it then rather than next year when I'm back at work (planning on doing three days a week). I get what they are saying but I just want a year off to concentrate on my baby without having to start leaving him when he is a week or two old. Plus I would need to do work based research when I just want to forget about work for the year!! Anyone in or been in a similar situation?0 -
ThinkPink, I'm just coming to the end of a 2 year course. I totally see your logic behind wanting to take a year. I think for me honestly I would have to keep going as if I stopped I would lose momentum and find it really hard to get back into it. I think it depends how disciplined you are with yourself and what it would mean if you did carry on for leaving baby though. Might it be worth talking to your tutor and discussing with them if any special arrangements can be made for the earlier parts of the course if you did carry on this coming year?
I'm in need of an early night. I stayed up late finishing an essay last night, I'm glad to have it just about out of the way but really tired this morning. I'm peeing much more now too!
I hope everyone is well this morning0 -
I spoke with my boss today, she said it's fine for me to have the year off from studying, she just hadn't really taken into account my due date and when uni starts again. I said I would speak with my uni lecturer but I'm pretty certain I'll have a year off.
I also discussed my plans for maternity leave, and she thinks my proposed plans are ok- I want to use four weeks annual leave and then start my maternity leave one week before my due date. I wonder how many work says left that means I will have!!
Baby is kicking away tonight, I could see my stomach moving just now!! I have found today I've needed to go to the loo so much more!!
How is everyone?x0 -
That's good ThinkPink.
OH is feeling the baby moving quite often now too. Not full on kicks yet, swirling feelings.
She seems to notice it the most when she's driving.
I'm getting there with the nursery. Currently just sanding the joins between plasterboard to get them smooth. I obviously put too much filler on as its taking an age. There's only so much sanding I can do each day before arm stops working!
Garage is empty now.
Our living room looks like a studio apartment as everything is in there now! Fridge Freezer, washing machine, dryer. Will move microwave in there too and knock up a few big batches of reheatable meals for next week.
There'll be at least a day when the kitchen will be out of action, wall's being knocked through.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I just felt him kick!
OH said he was doing a lot of moving, so I put my hand on her bump, not expecting to actually feel anything, but I felt a little kick!

Oh that's lovely Freddie.
We are going to look at baby bits tomorrow. I'm considering the mamas and papas petite cot now, it will be that or a crib. I was set on a crib but am now worried baby would get used to the motion and it would make putting him in his cot eventually more difficult, plus this means he potentially could stay in our room for a bit longer so I'm swaying more towards the petite cot now...... But that could all change after tomorrow.
Baby has been very active today, some of his movements still take me by surprise!!0
