skint.. no scratching.. loads of moisturiser on itchy bits! as often as needed.. even if every 15 minutes!! There is a pregnancy related liver issue, obstetric cholestasis, but is usually hands/feet that itch.. but it is worth mentioning itchiness to MW when you're next there. It may well just be your alien having a growt spurt and stretching you quickly.. scratching does encourage stretch marks and can cut the skin and cause infection.. so try not to!!

Full of cold here yet again.. really fed up of it!

  • Thanks ladies, he was very active last night, probably having a right old laugh at me clawing at myself wide awake. After I wrote on here early hours this morning I covered myself in bio oil and luckily went straight back to sleep, it seemed to ease it.

I will try my best not to scratch (but even writing this is making me want to.... really bad) my hands and feet have been okay just more my chest area. I will see how I am when we return home (next Thursday) and if I am still bad I will make an appt to see the midwife.

  • Hi Skint, I totally feel for you as I'm also having the same problem and it's definitely worse at night. I am covering myself in Cetraban cream morning and night but I'm still itching like crazy despite being prescribed the piriton too. I'm tearing at my skin and have made it bleed in a few places but my skin is getting really rough too.

Thankfully I've just had a call from my Consultants secretary following my GP visit on Monday. Consultant wants to see me in hospital on Monday morning at 8.30 - best take her cakes as it's my birthday too.

We had a private gender scan last night and are surprised but delighted to confirm we are team pink :grinheart. We have been referring to baby as a boy for a few weeks but given how many girls there are on both sides of the family, we shouldn't have been too shocked!

They wouldn't normally check measurements too at a gender scan but given our history, she very kindly did some checks and everything is perfect - measuring spot on (well a day ahead actually) but I'm 18 weeks today. Never in a million years thought we'd get here.

  • Ah Gelly, lovely news :)

One of my colleagues told me today that I'm blooming (he is in his late 50s and very old fashioned nature!), I just feel fat :rotfl:.

Have text my MW to see if I can use the Deep Heat roll on, I have niggly shoulder now I'm desk based. I asked the Boots pharmacist before I bought it if it was ok for pregnancy and she said yes, but the label says not to use!!

Congratulations on your pink bundle Gelly.. I'm so delighted for you!!

Is it just me has total rage??? I am just so angry all the time I'm like a crazy teenager! .. I just want everyone to go away and leave me alone.. I don't think I can deal with another 4 months of this.. i might kill someone! I was like this with DD1 as well .. but its awful I know I am angry, I know when I am being unreasonable which isnt always.. :p .. I'm just so angry!

I'm also thinking I should reschedule the anomaly scan.. I do not want to go while OHs mother is here... she isnt coming with us and it seems a but rude to leave her at home and go out for an hour or 2 when she is here.. changing it seems the best option.

  • pigpen - i would just leave her at home :D sure she won't mind for an hour or two.

skint - glad you got some sleep

gelly - fab news on team pink and measuring on target!

flutter - I have found everything says don't use in pregnancy, they are often over cautious. Most pharmacists refer me to the GP for nearly all tablets I've asked for over the counter. Annoying for everyone! They both have the same little book to check in! Ring another pharmacy, ask to speak to the pharmacist and see what they say. If it is topical like that I'm fairly sure you will be absolutely fine xxx

Scan went perfectly today, everything spot on! We are team YELLOW! We didn't want to find out. Sonographer was lovely much nicer than last time. Baby was nodding it's head! so cute!

Consultant was also great, made no decisions about delivery, he said I can have a growth scan at 36weeks to help me decide. Weight wise they aren't accurate but head circumference is. Still more swayed towards a C-section but I'm keeping my mind open.

    Hope all are well xx

Oh Moneypenny.. she can be a naggy nightmare.. she doesnt even know we are expecting yet lol.. though I guess the letter does say only 1 person allowed in (though I have no idea where the leter is) and the waiting room is 14 seats.. so I could say no.. though I'm tempted to word it.. she can go but if she does I'm not .. haha.. *chiild* ..

The reason most things say 'do not take in pregnancy' is not because they are unsafe but because they are not tested.. most pregnant women wouldnt want to be used as guinea pigs if their baby might come to harm!

I've perused a few names.. OH wont even discuss them so its futile even trying so you may have to put up with my ever changing favourites.. I wanted Theadora but Thea is really common already this year so thats out.. so I'm on Peony now!

Hiya! We finally moved office yesterday! Woo! I wasn't allowed to do much, so I mostly made teas and coffees lol. I now get to walk to and from work too. That should help me to get some gentle exercise, and will definitely save money :)

And, this morning we ordered our pram at last! :D So exciting! We went for the Bugaboo Cameleon3 from Mothercare. They still had a sign up in front of it, offering a free car seat, even though the offer had expired - and they honoured the offer! So, we got ourselves a bargain there. Pram, with pushchair and car seat, and had enough money left over to buy the car seat base to fix into the car, so were very happy with that. Big thanks to my Mum and Dad for that :)

I hope the itching eases for you Skint and Gelly!

    xx
