euronorris - I am B+ does that mean one of my parents is a B? They both swear they aren't!
!
If one is AB you could have B .. not a huge chance but it is possible.
fun thing.. http://www.endmemo.com/medical/bloodtype.php
the top one is if you know both parents blood types you can get an idea of baby blood type and at the bottom if you know 1 parent and childs blood a guess at the other parents.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Khal - Congrats on reaching 24 weeks!
As for bottles, I don't know really. FTM here too. My sister has had two kids recently and swears by the Dr Brown bottles though.
Moneypenny - I would assume that at least one of them had to either be B, or AB, as Pigpen said. But.....having looked at that site, it seems it's possible my baby could be O+. A very small chance, but a chance none the less. I hadn't realised that, I just assumed that if both parents were A, then baby had to be A too. Genetics are a wonderful thing! lol
Pigpen - that site is very cool!
I went to the dentist this morning. First time since I moved to the area. They were very nice, and all seems well. They obviously can't do x-rays at the moment, so I have to go back in 6 months, after baby's born, to have those done but all looks good. A few small problems with my gums (slight bleeding and a spot above one of my teeth), both of which she said are pregnancy related and should disappear after the birth. Not much that can be done for either, just keep 'em as clean as possible!
We ordered a new mattress with some of the PPI money, and I can't wait for it to arrive! Ours is so bad! Come on Monday!!! lol
Hope everyone is well!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I know Euro.. I bookmarked it for future browsing... I'm such a dweeb!
My daughter uses the tommee tippee bottles but I know loads of people dislike them, I used the mothercare steriliser ones or Avent.. both of us very rarely though, in fact the littlest never had one ever. My sister FF and tried every bottle known to man, spent a fortune and never really settled on any single one. I'm way too lazy to faff with bottles mine just got boobed.
I need to replace almost everything for this one, I got rid of everything over the last year.. up to age 3 is gone.. My daughter sold her stuff too so it is a case of total replacement! I have the basket and a spare cot which needs a few minor repairs.
My keyboard is really unresponsive today! it's driving me mad.. might try a restart while I get dressed..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I used the MAM bottles too moneypenny, mostly as I got them on a really good offer at the Baby Show at the NEC, and also as they're supposed to be easier for baby to switch to & from boob. I've recently lent them to a friend who's second baby wouldn't take the Avent ones she'd used with her first, and she got on better with them, so a bit of anecdotal evidence there! I also liked that you could sterilise individual bottles in the microwave - as we EBF I only ever needed one or two at a time so didn't want a whole microwave steriliser. DD never had colic, so not sure if the anti-colic function really works or not. I think it's likely a bit of a gimmic tbh. Unless you're planning to FF exclusively I'd not bother buying lots of bottles/steriliser now, the majority of the ones in our kit never got used at all!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

We used tommee tipped ones with our first, and ended up buying the anti colic ones in desperation. I have to admit I'm not sure what to do this time, start with normal or opt of the other ones just in case. I know others who swear by each type you can buy, so I think really it all depends on the baby0

I love that geeky site thanks Pigpen!
As for the MAM bottles, I bf for 8 weeks with the odd expressed bottle then introduced a nighttime bottle at 8 weeks then totally went on to bottles by 8 months (when top teeth arrived -eeek!). I was glad I had a set in but also glad the baby just took to them easily, didn't have one bit of trouble. I had a free Avent bottle which made the baby guzzle her milk and air and throw it all back up, never had that trouble with the MAM. Think all babies are different though!
We have got most things this time, spending more buying DC1 a new bed so her toddler bed can go back to being a big cot again. Quite sold on the idea of a crib for our room, need a car seat base and probably some new clothes as DC1 was newborn in winter (!) but will get them when baby arrives and we know gender. Also still haven't decided on which breast pump, if at all?0 -
Congratulations flutter!
We used avent bottles, but every baby is different.

Any suggestions on how to make dispersible aspirin taste any better? I have to take it daily, and it's vile and making me gag* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Baby is kicking up a storm today! Woke me up this morning with the kicking - it had made my way into my dream, and I woke up and realised it was real!
Flutter - that sounds grim. I'm not surprised it makes you gag! I don't know if anything will really cover up the taste as it's so strong, but have you tried holding your nose whilst gulping it down as quickly as possible? And then follow it up with a glass of orange juice. Usually helps to stop you from tasting it so much.
I don't really have any other suggestions I'm afraidI hope you find a solution.
