  • Gelly, happy to hear all is well with you!

My sisters wedding is a week and half before my due date so I won't be going as I can't fly! :( majorly sad about that but I am heading back to Ireland on 1st March and planning on throwing her one hell of a hen party (with me being sober and taking in all the antics!)

I'm still waiting on my blood test results from the NT scan, they don't do it here so I'm to call next Sunday as they get sent off.

  • Hi Dinky, great to see you on here, it's like the old gang is back together. Aahhhh a boy.. what lovely news, so good to have one of each.

Our scan is next Tuesday and cannot wait to find out!!

Euro.. you put on half lb? I have been weighing myself once a week and since 8 weeks I have put on a lb a week... I have a big old baby tum everyone is convinced it is twins and one was hiding behind the other at the scan.

Fingers crossed for your results Pigpen. I expect they are fine, but it's only natural to worry until you get the results through.

I'm still waiting on results of my latest blood test - they were going to test it to determine the rhesus status of baby. That was almost 2 weeks ago now. If nothing arrives in today's post, I'll phone the surgery to see if they can confirm ETA. It's not bad either way, I'm just curious....and impatient! lol

I do wonder as well, if they can tell the sex from that test, seeing as they are testing the small amount of baby's DNA in my blood.

Yeah, I love all the kicks and wriggles too! :)

they can tell from the new NIPT test with 99.5% accuracy but not the old Quad test or the antibody test. they probably 'could' but don't.

I didn't get a call from hospital so I'm assuming all is ok... you watch them ring tomorrow in the middle of my sons ATOS assessment just to be a total pita..

Dinky.. they are funny aren't they? A brother won't want all her toys ;) ... or her princess dresses.. and she won't have to share a room (assuming you have a 3rd) .. bonuses!!

I'm maid of honour for my sister at 30 weeks and I'm terrified of going into labour, don't think I could do 36 weeks, pigpen!

you don't get a great deal of choice.. with twins you will be lucky to get to 36 weeks! my 16 year old was a 30 weeker.. 3lb 10, .. 3 weeks in scbu, went down to 2lb 13.. was 4lb 4 when he came home!

  • hi Dinky good to see you here!

Pigpen - no you aren't going to the wedding! :D

    skint - I've put on a stone and I'm 17 weeks :( I don't have a baby tum, I just look fatter than my usual fat !

Felt a bit sick again today :( Anyone got experience of cribs/swinging cribs? How long can babies stay in them? The moses basket lasted five minutes last time and having the massive cot in our room was a pain, was hoping to get a crib which would last 6 months, do they last that long?

I'm in the week wait upto my 23 week scan to try and finish the 20 week checks. We're really hoping we can find out the sex, we did with my daughter. I'm convinced it's a girl again which I'm happy with. Hubby says boy but I think it's to get his parents off his back. Pigpen I know what you mean about 40 being the end of the world pregnancy wise. But at least for me it means they won't let me go overdue if I get to that stage.
Unfortunately my sickness is ramping up which is a bit of a pain, all I can say ladies is, do those pelvic floor exercises!

Moneypenny we had a crib, our little one stayed in it for 4 1\2 months, she could probably have gone longer but we wanted her in her own room before I returned to work so she wouldn't be disturbed on a morning

The near constant nausea and occasional vomiting meant I actually lost a few lbs in the first trimester. It then took me a few weeks to gain those back, then I was sick again so stabilised, and last week I stuffed my face! I was already overweight though, so i should gain less than those who had a healthy starting weight.

I haven't a clue what I weigh or how much I've gained and I don't care either.. I will deal with it at a later date when I'm not growing a person and when I don't feel sick when I'm hungry and when my blood sugar doesn't get all dramatic if I've not eaten for 10 minutes!

Mine were in the crib until about 8 months.. we had a swinging crib for 6-8 and a wicker basket for the little 3.. which is currently at my daughters and I need to make room for and I only just remembered and my room is full of gubbins from Christmas.. all I want to do is sleep!! Ginormababy was only in it 6 months but she is on the 99.6th centile for height!

I had just lost 3 stone when I got pg with this one.. weight loss does seem to trigger pregnancy for me.. I shall stay fat for all eternity lol.

I'm considering requesting a hysterectomy with this one.. it may sound extreme but several close family members have had cervical cancer/almost cervical cancer and its just 1 less risk.. and no more smears.. I actually think they would do it too.. but we will see. I might want to keep it if they do.. that's weird I know.. but I might.

I'm going to ask them to write the gender on a piece of paper so I can take it home and deal with it in my own space. I have decided.

I've never had pelvic floor issues.. everything else is shafted but that's ok.. one good thing eh? lol

Lemon.. I won't be left past 37 weeks, my kidneys and hips cant cope.. that makes it 9th June at the latest.. but I am expecting all manner of dramatics from the hospital, they like drama and I just ignore them all and they haven't been right yet! Whatever happens, happens, it cannot be predicted and you deal with stuff if it occurs..

Consultants are slacking too, I've usually had several appointments through for their scare tactics by now (I don't want one, its just a casual observation).. though I've had 2 for bloods.. why would anyone go to the hospital, pay £5 parking to wait about for 3 hours to have bloods done which the MW can do at home or the clinic or the gp surgery in 5 minutes? I don't get it.

Last time they tried to bribe me to hospital with the promise of a scan, because we women are all so gullible we wouldn't possibly refuse a scan.. wrong lol The consultant did actually tell the midwife that is why he offered it.. I've known her 21 years she did laugh at him.

Yes I am this much of a pain ALL the time ;) I drive OH crazy.. he just does as he is told by everyone.

Fingers crossed 'the call' doesn't come tomorrow :) I hate waiting..

Just chased the GP surgery for the results of my latest blood test and they have confirmed that baby is rhesus d positive, so I will definitely need the anti-d injection at 28 weeks.

So, given that both DH and I are A blood group, it means that we already know that baby is A+, just like it's Daddy! :)
