I've just booked for my 13 year old to travel to Canada via Canadian Affairs..."As ..... is travelling alone, a full adult fare must be charged. As an adult fare is on the booking, APD must also be paid. Unfortunately you will not receive a tax refund."

I'm in a similar boat with GoToGate. They're saying because they sold me an adult ticket (Polish LOT's definition of Adult is 11+), I can't claim a refund.
Did you get any joy?
Does anyone know the legalities of this?
Thanks,

Hello Everybody,
I might have posted in the wrong section but pleas direct me to the correct section
Here is my query
I had to cancel my flight from UK to India due to family emergency.I was expecting that the airline will refund me the Airport tax (which is more that 50% of the fare) but i only got a refund of approximately 10%. Is there a way i can complain or ask the reason for not refunding the tax.
Can anyone please let me know what i should do.
Thank you0 -

Not all of the taxes are refundable. APD is, but there is no law that says they have to refund the taxes, and some airlines charge an admin fee to process the refund.0
