  • I understand that you can only get a refund fund for economy fares. Does anyone know if this also applies to premium economy? We are travelling to Thailand on Eva airlines with three grandchildren in July on premium economy.

We have still heard nothing about Aer Lingus refunding APD...

    ...we have £39 due...

...has anybody else heard from them?

As you have posted, the APD refund is for economy tickets only.

I have a flight booked with Aegean Airlines from Heathrow for May and I just called them to ask about how I get an APD refund for my two year old. The woman didn't know what I was talking about and couldn't help me....

I have emailed them and put a post on their facebook page.....

I booked my flights through Budgetair who are pretty slow to answer any queries, however they did get back to me saying to get in touch with the airline (Virgin and Aer Lingus) who are both apparently refunding the agents direct.

I think it's fair that you can't reclaim the APD until after you've flown, no problem with that, how long we'll have to wait is a different story. By my calculations I think I'm due back £252 for flying with 3 kids, Dublin to Manchester to Orlando, lucky enough I fly out on May 1st!!
CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel
July 2012 finally DEBT FREE :D

Whatever you get it won't be £252. You're departing from Dublin, and there is no APD charged in Ireland.

If Budgetair booked as 2 separate tickets ie not a connecting flight you should get the refund for the MAN-MCO leg.

If it was booked on one ticket, with one PNR, and the connecting flight ie MAN-MCO departs less than 24 hours after the arrival of the first flight DUB-MAN, then I don't think you're due anything because it's an international to international connecting flight.

Expedia say you cannot claim for refund until you have returned back from the holiday. We booked in January to go to NYC in December, paid for the flights in full and they cannot be cancelled, so we have a long wait until we can get our money back. Frustrating as we are eligible to claim for 3 child flights (age 3, 6 and 9) so this refund could have gone towards spending money while on our holiday.

Are you sure you even paid the APD if you booked in January? The airline may well have already adjusted their fares by then.

Good point. I just assumed I would have. Ive tried to find out from my expedia invoice but it doesn't break down the flight cost. Will investigate more.
