anyone post a link to the form you have to fill in and return to easyjet to reclaim APD...(not actually for under 12's...this is for a flight that was missed) their website is a maze, I see @lea2012 may have had some successNo two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere0

We're flying with Delta booked via a travel agent. I found this on their website and forwarded it to the agent who told me they are in the process of obtaining our refund. Not sure how long this will take and we may not get it back until after our travel May-June 15!

We booked via Thomson to go to Egypt with two children that I thought would receive a refund of £71 each.
Today I have found out that I will only be receiving a refund for one, as the other child was a free child place.
I can see that they are trying to get out of the refund. But surely if the new rules didn't come in to place they would have had to pay two lots of air passenger duty, irrespective of them giving me a free child place. So they must be getting a refund themselves for both children, or just not having to pay it.
Or are they playing by the rules and if/when they give free child places it helps them for tax and duty purposes.0 -
I booked my BA flights for my summer holiday with 2 kids to St Lucia (ooh!) in October. Since December, I have been chasing BA for the fairly hefty refund I'm owed, but with no luck.
It seems they think they can sit on my money until after I have flown in July which seems incredibly unfair to me.

Anyone any idea how to speed this up? Watchdog???
Here is the response to my latest complaint (it took 4 weeks!):
Dear Sir
I am sorry we were unable to reply to you sooner.
The UK Government announced 3 December 2014 that the GB Air Passenger Duty (APD) will no longer be charged for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years on economy class seats for travel from 1 May 2015. (Economy class on British Airways is either Euro Traveller or World Traveller.)
Our selling system has been updated so that APD is no longer quoted for children for any booking for travel after this date.
Any customers who have already paid APD on their children's tickets bought directly from us, travelling from 1 May 2015 onwards, will be refunded as soon as possible. We are working on arrangements for administering these refunds, which may take us just a little time to complete.
For any further assistance, please contact your nearest British Airways office0 -
I am another who is furious with BA over their attitude toward this. I don't know where to turn now however and would welcome any suggestions.
We booked for USA in November for travel this October and have 2 kids. I have been corresponding via letter and received the same response as the PP. Yesterday, I received a phone call and again outlined that other airlines are refunding APD so why do BA think their procedure of not refunding until after travel is reasonable. This tax will not now be collected from BA so why should they hold this from 1 May to end October. The chap said he might be able to refund it after 1 May and would check. However he called back and said this wasn't possible as their system couldn't do this and it could not be manually overwritten.
Any ideas on what to do now?moneybagsuk wrote: »I booked my BA flights for my summer holiday with 2 kids to St Lucia (ooh!) in October. Since December, I have been chasing BA for the fairly hefty refund I'm owed, but with no luck.

I have just received this email from gotogate.com. Regarding my sons BOG-AMS-LHR-AMS-BOG ticket booked on KLM. The ticket was booked on 26th Oct 2014 for travel on 9th June 2015.
They are refusing to pay the refund because :
The ticket has to be issued after 4th Dec 2014
The trip has to start after the 1st May
The trip has to start in the UK
Can any one help, where I can look up these vague rules, and check myself.
Or any other help or options ?0 -
I am also looking for help. Myself and 2 kids (aged 6 & 4 at time of cruise) are booked on a fly cruise in the Caribbean in January 2016. I contacted P&O how we booked with and they are giving me the run around claiming all sorts of excuses not to pay the tax back. Who can i turn to get support on this?0

We have tried several times now to get a refund as we are flying to Florida in August with 2 children and all we keep getting told is "you booked on a contract rate, therefore your not entitled to a refund"
What does that even mean?
Surely we should still be entitled to a refund based on the new legislation regardless of what offer we booked on??
Please advise...0
