Hi, I've recently been charged £150 to vacate my mortgage and thought that it was a touch excessive to just click a few buttons. Anyone know if I have a legit case to get any of that back? I've complained to them and they have said that as it was in the small print when I took the mortgage out I have no case to request a refund. Thanks.0

Hello!
So as of today, 22/07/08 what is the situation with the case?
any news or updates? Does anybody have any idea how long the process will take?0 -
Hi not sure what is happening with the test case however I have read today that the waiver granted to the banks that expires on 26/07/08 will be replaced by anther 6 month one until Jan 2009 by the FSA. Hopefully there will be some sort of update in this weeks e-mail. I believe the judge had also asked the OFT to make a report at the end of July???Hello!

My bank account has been frozen and passed over to a collection agency. This was done when they suddenly called in my overdraft and due to sickness I couldnt make the required repayments. Can I still claim the charges from my bank?
Thanks for any advice0 -
Hi Newbie here.
In May I sent off my letter asking to reclaim my charge over the last 6 years and received a reply stating that due to the court case I would have to wait, which I knew would happen.
Since then I have managed to sort my debts out slightly which has put me into a better possition. But 2 weeks ago I was made redundant as I work as an engineer in the private housing development sector. Since then I have been unable to to find a job due to being a graduate and only having just under a years experience.
Would I be entitled to ask for my charges back as I have no job? To cap it all off my partner and I are expecting a baby in November and the future looks very grim, and anything would be helpfull.
Thanks Jules
Great Site by the way, I never go anywhere else.0 -
Two years ago I sued Nationwide in the Small Claims Court and won (well they did not defend it so I asked for and got judgement). They paid up but closed my account. At the time I thought that was fair enough but recently I read that they were not allowed to intimidate others from claiming so I wrote and asked for compensation and got offered £250 just like that! So I advise anyone who has won their case and had their account closed to do the same.0

The FSA have extended the waiver/hold until January 2009.
Full details are in the FSA press release from the link below.
