    Morning!

Narc0 glad the op went well, hope his recovery is quicker than expected and you can have family time over Xmas xxx

Well I've been awake for 2hrs with tummy ache and feeling hot :( hope DS hasn't shared whatever he's had. Although I do feel better now so just having a cuppa while the kids have brekkie.

DS bedding in the wash again. And he actually had a pullup on! Go figure. 4th time I've changed his bed this week. Can I put him in a bin liner and just seal it around his neck ? :rotfl:

Today I'm going to finish the DR tidying and possibly the garage or conservatory, but I will need a heater on  both very chilly places. Also the downstairs loo needs attention.

Finished my bits of wrapping last night although I haven't got my dad anything and my mums gift is just a silly mug so far. We sort of agreed not to do presents, but my mum wanted me to have something to open, and since the inlaws have something from the kids I've now realised my dad needs something for when he pops over. Ah well. My mum has a favourite posh soap I can get and my dad has mentioned a few times they need a float thing for their swimming pool (house in Spain) so I've ordered him a giant rubber duck that won't disappear down the filter. Sorted.

No snow here, they keep warning but hasn't happened yet.

    Morning all

Narco big hugs sweetie at such a stressful. Vibes for a speedy recovery heading east to you.

Frizzle I hope your response was where would YOU like to start with getting the house in order. Cheeky devil.

Elastic hope your son made it back to the UK.

Opeation get a kitten on Monday has hit a hitch, DS3 is not impressed. I think the search will need to start again and probably be after Christmas now which is such a shame as I wanted DS3 to be able to spend the 2 weeks of Christmas getting to know her.

Plan is to go and get the christmas tree this morning, clean the shower room, hoover and mop downstairs. meal plan food and food shop.

  • Hugs Narco. If its any small comfort I used to work with someone who had 4ft of intestine removed and went on to make a complete recovery. Isnt it odd whats inside us?

And Bossy. Yep I remember it well. In fact I got so used to washing bedding every day that it was strange when he started to be dry on a night! I tried those quilted waterproof mats that you put underneath them and they worked sometimes but often he wriggled off them, or they bunched up.

Been up since 6.30. Still full of cold and cant sleep, even though I feel really tired. Presents to wrap, food shopping to get, a little bit of paid stuff to do, some cardboard that needs to be taken to the tip. I dont feel like doing any of this!

More coffee needed I think x

    Welcome home decocat!

Narco - hope DH makes a speedy recovery.

I've been up half of the night coughing so that's fun. The home phone has developed a fault this morning so I've got an engineer coming out between 12 and 4 this afternoon. Only problem is DS wants picking up from football at 12 and DD wants a lift into town at 2!

Plan for today is to get some wrapping done and hopefully sort my BR out at the same time. I've also got a large paperwork/computer exercise to do for Scouts which has got to be done this weekend.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

  • Morning everyone.

Narco - thinking of you and DH and hope he has a speedy recovery.

Juliejim - hope the cough improves soon.

Need to go out later to buy oven thermometer as had my first baking failure yesterday when the ready made puff didn't!!! Scraped the top off which was delicious and saved it so will make my sweet pastry mince pies out of it. Had a lovely party last night and lunchtime catch up was - well - shall we say a little awkward. Sometimes it is not good to go back.

Going to check out other local butchers for lamb shanks for Xmas Eve as ours has changed hands and is not as good now.

Then need to drop a few things with D Sis and tidy up downstairs ready for a big clean on Sunday/ Monday.

Had to pull my knitting back so need to choose a pattern I can do at the same time as talking/ watching TV!!! Have two scarves to do now so need to get a shift on!

Have a good day everyone. x

    Morning all!

Heavy frost here, but also beautiful sunshine. The squirrels are gorging on peanuts.

Dailies started, but I have the house to myself today (DH is on the railway) and intend to clean from top to bottom and do WMx3.
I want to put the tree up, but DH will have to add the lights because I can't reach that high :(
I need to type up the Minutes of one of Thursday's meetings.
I have remembered that the presents for my goddaughter and her family have to be sent by post :o The rest of the gift wrapping will be a job for next week.
I managed to pick up some wire coat hangers in the Oxfam shop yesterday, so I can now sew the other sail.
I also need to alter the shoulder darts on my dress.

Plenty to keep me occupied, then :)

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Frosty here too.

DR sorted, craft stuff put away. Washing hung in airing cupboard. Downstairs loo cleaned including floor. Bins emptied and recycling out. Quick tidy in my room after shower to return it to its "just done" state of yesterday. Box of wipes for stash rehomed in DS cupboard. Oh and upstairs windows wiped since they were wet.

Garage isn't actually that bad. Just a small pile of ironing, one of which I'll need for work and some school uniform.

Will just tidy away the kids "cafe" since no one is playing with it and my dad is on his way. They may well "feed" him too :D

  • Morning all! And what a beautiful sunny and crisp morning it is here in York.

Posivibes to all who need, especially Narco's DH. Hopefully the worst is behind him and he will go on to make a full recovery.

Heading into York later to meet some friends from Twitter. hoping to have a late lunch and look at the Christmas market.

And can I say a huge thank you to whoever decided to send me a Secret Santa gift? I honestly have no idea who has done it (I've checked the post code and am stumped) but I am very grateful and humbled by it. I offered to run the Secret Santa because I knew I could do it, even if I had to rush down to mum's. I don 't put my own name in because it's not fair, but I do derive a huge amount of pleasure from reading all your reports of what has turned up in mysterious parcels.

Thank you! Hope you all have a great day.

Doodling about on here, when I should be doing the second coat in bathroom....:o

Bossymoo Agree totally. When my three were younger, we had so many Christmases with illness ( the chicken pox year, the tummy bug year, the flu year...) that my expectations of Christmas now start with 'everyone is well'. Anything else is a bonus. :D
I think that it is also too hyped up, and that creates totally false expectations, and pressure.

Frazzle I really, really hope you handed him a dustbin bag with a sweet smile. Hugs.

Narc0lepsy Relieved to hear better news, best wishes for speedy recovery. Take it easy today if you can.

Uni boy comes home today! Very excited to see him later. Right, bathroom painting, here I come!
